No One Showed Up To The Bridal Shower!!

I asked them "did you guys just get married?!" She excitingly answered "YES!!!" As she showed me her ring. I congratulated them and had immediately asked "what made you cancel the wedding for December?" They both replied together "We didn't!" I gave them a puzzled look and she said "we aren't telling anyone we got married! So everything will still be the same." I kindly explained how rude it was to lie to their guest and how pissed her guest would be to find out the truth eventually! Her husband replied "I don't care! We're paying for it!" So I dropped it because it was not my business to deal with. Fast forward....I get home and sent her a text, kindly asking her what does she want me to do about her shower, she replied "have it!" I told her "Daisy, I'm not hosting a bridal shower for someone who is already married, you're not a bride anymore." She then responded back "I will talk to you later!" So I went ahead and decided to go with the shower but nothing said Bridal Shower, I wasn't going to entertain it that far and I changed the invitations from bridal shower to Celebration for the couple! Out of the 85 people who I sent the invitations to 60 RSVP'd. We talked on and off throughout the planning process and the day before the "shower" I sent her a text asking her what time would she be there. She never replied. I didn't think much of it.

The day of, my best friend (I'm going to call her Jessica) Jessica and my FH went with me to set up and help get everything in order and wait for the vendors. The "shower" was to start at 1pm...no one was there at 1pm.....1:30.....2:30 and 3. I was calling people and calling Daisy but no one answered . I went to send her a message on Facebook to find out to my surprise I couldn't find her....nor her brothers, cousins or her other bridesmaid. So Jessica goes on her Facebook to see if she could get in touch with her, she couldn't find her. FH couldn't find her page either! So we used Jessica DH Facebook and saw she had posted on her page "Due to a certain situation my bridal shower will be cancelled today and I will update you on a new location and time soon! Sorry for the inconvenience!" I was livid!! I sat there in a empty venue, fully decorated, delicious and expensive food surrounding me and this bitch pulled this shit! It is now February and I have yet to hear from Daisy! At all! She even moved from her previous address! I can't believe this like actually happened. I had to share, it's been erking me. Hopefully no one else has to deal with such a horrible person and unfortunate situation. I honestly have no clue why!!!!! But.....yeah....thanks for reading!

So what you're saying is you called her out, she got pissy, told you she was pissy, you still went ahead with the charade of a "shower", and she went behind your back and cancelled leaving you out lots of money.

Okay, so lesson learned. She basically told you she would do something like this when you called her out. If someone is petty enough and gift grabby enough not to tell people they are married before their PPD, then they are not going to give up a shower without a fight!

This is a crazy story. What a terrible friend. You spent money to throw her a bridal shower even though she didn't deserve one and she cancels and doesn't even let you know. I would post a Facebook status update saying "I threw a bridal shower for an ungrateful friend but she cancelled last minute. I am extending an open invite to anyone who wants to enjoy some free delicious food that I already paid for."
