No Invite, No Entrance?

Weddings can be expensive so my husband and I were extremely firm with our guest list. Weddings can be expensive so my husband and I were extremely firm with our guest list. We insisted that if a guest did not receive a plus one if was not personal but they could not bring an additional guest and any uninvited guest would not be allowed entrance. I know it sounds harsh but the reality is wedding crashers exist and venues will charge you accordingly. Is your wedding by invitation only? Do you mind having uninvited guests?

I didn’t have this issue since I had a destination wedding. However were strict in our list from the beginning and we were clear on who was invited and who wasn’t.

We got an RSVP back from a couple we invited (addressed as Mr and Mrs... as in 2 peeps) and the sent back the RSVP with 4 attending 🙃 MOST IRRITATING THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Still makes my blood boil. And the worst thing was that it was one of my BRIDESMAID’S parents. I have since let that $h#% go because I have better things to worry about! They are bringing their two 18 yr old sons (bridesmaids little bros) who I probably should have invited anyways since they’re both 18. But still. READ THE DANG INVITATION PEOPLE.

There were definitely people who RSVPd for my wedding and didn't show up. That was three months ago and I have yet to even receive a call or congratulations from them. Those were people my family pressured me to invite, they weren't my first picks so imagine how upset I was. Nonetheless, I think everyone should have a set guest list to avoid confusion, space issues, etc.

I don't understand why people think they can just invite whoever they want to your wedding. I think too many people consider it as a party and that's the problem.

Literally girl TELL ME ABOUT IT. I was really afraid with how our RSVP is set up that someone would do that because it doesn’t say “blank seats have been reserved in your honor”. I really wanted to put that, but my MIL to be said it wasn’t necessary and people don’t do that. Oh, THEY DO. People are dang rude I’ll tell ya that.

I also had someone ask me “oh is it really adult only?” Like are you kidding me? Even if it’s not don’t ask me that. If I wanted your kid there I would’ve told you they could come.

I always wanted a destination wedding. I wanted a small intimate affair that it was more than just the wedding day and I’m so happy we did. I had the most amazing weekend with our closer family and friends and we truly enjoy everyone throughout different events.

The bride whose wedding I was in 3 weeks ago discovered that the type of people who will write in guests on a printed RSVP, will tell you it is your fault for not making a place to put extra guest meals on the website, for the people they have brought with them. Nothing is fool proof. 😋

Are you meaning that you are not allowing plus ones of people who aren't not in relationships, or are you only inviting 1 person in a couple? Are you only inviting 1 person out of a married couple? If so, that is extremely rude and you should re-evaluate who you invite.

We did RSVPs through our website where it let you know if you had a plus one or not and you couldn't add more people if you tried.

Not everyone received a plus one, however, all married couples did and a few people who had boyfriend's or girlfriends. It may be "extremely rude" to some but my husband and I paid for our own wedding so we made judgement calls. We didn't have any issues in that area. At least 5 of our guests had partners who weren't invited and they were perfectly okay with that.

Oh nice, I didn’t even know that was an option! We didn’t bother with a wedding website because I felt like with who our guest list consists of no one would care or bother to look at it. But I guess you could say we technically are having an adult only wedding... I have a flower girl and ring bearer and both of their siblings. They’re also my immediate family so they would have come no matter what. And I have another family member’s kid. Also two pre teens I personally allowed to attend because I’ve know them since they were in diapers. So we’ve made exceptions.

Exactly yes i do not have the money to pay for those who were not invited nor do i for those who said they couldn't make it! Your right head counts are for a reason and its to give venue how many people are actually suppose to be there..
