No Juanita, you are not the only one. As a mature bride, who has been in her home for 27 years, I am also not having a shower, nor am I registering.

Re bachelorette parties....I am not judging others, but the idea of a stripper and lollipops shaped like penises do nothing for me. I would rather go out as couples.

No bridal shower here.... FH and I already live together and have most of the kitcheny stuff already. Also, I'm planning the wedding from 4+ hours away and it wasn't feasible to try and organize one. I am having a "bachelorette party", but it will consist of going out to for dinner and drinks... Very low key. Maybe consider just going out for a meal with the gals?

I am not having a traditional bachelorette party. Me and 2 of my closest friends are doing a girls weekend in Miami....no strippers.

I had a very casual shower at my own home that was basically hosted by me. Only about 8 guests. The I had a little get together at my hotel suite with my best girlfriends the night before the wedding. We just had some drinks and cake and chatted. Both were very lowkey and exactly how I wanted them.

For my first wedding, I had neither a shower nor a bachelorette. For my second, we again did not have a shower. And our bachelorette parties were extremely tame--dinner and arcade games at Dave & Buster's, and a visit to a traditional Korean bathhouse. No alcohol, and no penises in evidence either place--which was just as well, as they definitely would not have worked for us, in so many ways!

I am not having either. I hate all things shower related (baby and bridal). They are so boring to me. I am 31 and Fh is 24 and we live together. I don't need another toaster thank you very much. And drinking out of a penis straw with a tiara on makes me want to hurt people. We might just do a family dinner out as a "bachelorette/ bachelor party" substitute.

I hate attending showers, so I didn't want to put my girls through one! I just had a very easy bachelorette - drinks and apps at a girlfriend's apartment.

I did not have one as I don't have many friends and I did not want to put that pressure on anyone in my wedding party. I did have a lunch with those in my wedding. Very simple light and no pressure.

@2D.....OMG...I just peed my pants. I needed that chuckle. THank you!

@Jessica R.....I will never quite grasp the need for penis straws, penis lollipops and cakes shaped like a penis. If I want to see a penis, I will go to my favorite source.

LOL at CaroleB and 2nd bride- you two are always so funny :-)

This is a second wedding for both. I made it clear that I didn't want (or need) a shower, but FH's family really wants an excuse to have a party, so they are (I think) doing a theme shower, like stock the bar, lingerie, gift card, etc.

Instead of a bachelorette party, I think a bunch of couples are going out the night before the wedding. We are getting married at 5pm the next day.

If someone wanted to plan one for me, I'd say I would prefer a Jack and Jill.... that is, both the men and women together going out to enjoy it... but honestly i dont think I'm getting one, so it doesnt matter much! lol! so yeah, yo uaren't alone... i just dont have any friends really haha.

No bachlorette party. My BFF insist on hosting a bridal shower for me but I think it will be tooo much too handle right now. She lost her grandmother in February, she's 11 weeks pregnant, and lost her mom passed away on yesterday. So I don't really need a shower, we are registered at a couple of places taht are listed on our website, if anyone wants to buy us any gifts they will with or without a shower. She has too much on her plate right now and I can do without a shower.

Not for us either, at 51 and 41 (I'm older) we don't have many friends and none together so it wouldn't work for us. Despite the fact that as my brother says "but D you're a social butterfly" I am really not into all that, never had one before and don't need one at my age now. Smiley smile

Ehhh more than likely I will have no bridal shower of if there is one, I won't be present it'll be some wrap shower ... ridiculous in MHO ... but whatever as my Mom told me well yelled at me, I don't care what type of shower you want, you are getting the type of shower I can do for you, do you understand now beat it ... no joke ... and bachelorette will involve chick flicks, wine and that's it, the night before the wedding ... I'd like a wild and crazy bachelorette but my MOH is not into that type of stuff ...
