No shower or party here. We didn't register either. Funny how you find out who your friend are.. the girls I was so close to in NY have since barely talked to me now and won't fly down for the wedding. Oh well.. their loss.

I am doing both but rolled into 1. We are renting a limo and going wine tasting and then all of the guests are going to paint a ceramic tile for our BBQ Grill. My husband & I got married in November of 2009 but have waited to do a wedding until our bestman got home from Afgan. I am asking no gifts but that everyone chip in for the limo.

We had a sort of engagment/meet and greet party at one of our gms homes, for our families to get together and the entire wedding party to meet. It was fun. The girls in my wedding, we had been out so many times partying together over the years, there was no need really. We have two homes, didn't want more spatulas, etc.

I don't think anyone is throwing me a shower/bachelorette party, so I'm going to skip on the shower and probably do an at-your-own-expense get-together where me and some close friends will go see that new movie 'Bridesmaids' and then go out for drinks. No penises or strippers for me, thank you.

I didn't have a bachelorette party either. I wanted one but no one wanted to put one together and I didn't want to organize my own so I gave it up.

No Shower for me either Smiley smile Almost seems the norm now? Me and FH have been living together for 2 years now, so we are not registering either. Our reception is going to be fairly casual, and we decided on a potluck, so we just told people to bring food instead of gifts.

As for the Bacholorette party, I am having one, but it's almost more for the girls than for me. FH and I have also talked about a combined bachelor/bacholorette party (neither of us is really into strippers so either way it will just be a fun night out with the girls and guys beofer the wedding. More like a pre-wedding party Smiley smile

Not having one either. But since we aren't registering for gifts (we don't want anything but the presence of our guests), don't know what would be the point of one in our case.

    @ Juanita

Stock the bar parties would be where guest bring either their favorite liquor or bar essentials as a gift. The inviation would state something like bring your favorite bar item to help future bride and groom stock their bar...

Lingerie parties can either be done similar to the bar where people bring you lingerie as a gift invite would probably say get Juanita ready for her honeymoon buy purchasing her a new piece of lingerie...

Lingerie parties can also be done similar to a pure romance party where there is a consult that sells lingerie and the guests will buy their own and can donate money towards your purchase....

    Hope this helps!
