New Wedding Planner

This may sound like an obvious answer, however, I would advise that you trust your gut! I’m a big believer in making tough decisions based on this! Your gut instinct is really powerful and shouldn’t be ignored

Who did you ask for the recommendation from? Do you trust their opinion?

My gut is saying take the leap! I like their personality, I like their style, they worked for reputable planners in the past (as assistants). And my fiance is good to go - he seems unphased by the newness of it all. But I'm so nervous come the day of - what if they get overwhelmed? Will they put me at ease? Or since I have 1.5 years until my wedding maybe they'll build some clientele in between. As for the recommendation, the planner I'm considering hiring provided it. I was kind of taken aback they would choose someone so closely related to them like a friend which really made me think they really didn't have any other clientele. So I feel it's kind of biased, but also a co-worker who worked with them at the reputable planner has seen how you work and still trusts you to manage their wedding. So I feel like I should trust the opinion.

When you met with the planners, did you express any of your concerns about their experience? Did they have any words of reassurance or how did they address this?

We did! We're about to start planning with them! (My fiancé and I have been super busy lately but luckily we have some time.)

Also, you have to remember every wedding planner started somewhere and was new to the field at some point. You've mentioned they have some prior experience but not on their own AND Indian wedding experience and you connected with them and falls within your budget, to me that sounds like a winning combination. Even the most seasoned wedding planner can have hiccups so I say go for it!
