I was hoping to get your guys’ opinion on something. It has taken me FOREVER to find a local wedding planner for my destination wedding. I feel like I’ve interviewed half the city even though I’ve just scratched the surface. Besides it being important for me to find someone I connect with that’s in our budget, a big thing for me was finding someone with Indian wedding experience. Of all the planners I’ve found, the ones I connect with most don’t have that Indian wedding experience, but are still more than what we wanted to pay. BUT I finally found a planner who does that I connect with on a great level. The only caveat being they are very new to the industry, which is why they’re more affordable. They have some prior experience just not as their own name. It’s usually been as an on-site coordinator/assistant, which is where the Indian experience comes from. I want to take the leap of faith and give them the chance because everyone has to start somewhere, but still a little nervous. I asked for a recommendation, but turns out that she was a former co-worker for a planner they used to work for - meaning she's seen them in action and had the confidence to hire them. I really do like them and the experience they are marketing sounds unique and fun and I LOVE their design execution. Any advice? Other things I should look or ask for? Thanks!
