new barn venue setting - decoration/lighting ideas - inexpensive

Eileen, on November 29, 2015 at 6:22 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Can anyone give us ideas on how to decorate inexpensively? ie: lighting and any decorating that anyone has done? Thanks

What do you consider "inexpensive"? For some, that's $100. For others, it's $900. How many guests are you hosting and what's you overall wedding budget?

Very cute! Are you doing a barn wedding also Caitlyn?

Don't have an answer, but following this post as I'm equally curious how to replicate this.

What type of decor do you like?? White Christmas lights are cheap and can look really cute wound around beams. Draping can be expensive, but can really transform the place! Also remember that your tablecloths and centerpeices will go a long way with decor. Hydrangea and baby's breath are also 2 cheaper types of flowers!

Here's a link to my farm wedding. Everything was pretty much bare before I got started. Paper lanterns are cheap and very pretty. Table overlays and chair sashes go a long way. We were the second wedding at this venue since it only opened this year.

Borrow mason jars from friends and family who use them to can or decorate, use christmas lights, you could rent wine barrels rather than buy them, buy bulk flowers from costco or sams and put together centerpieces yourself. Keep in mind the cost of baby's breath has gone up with the rustic wedding trend being so popular. You can get cheap tealights and candles from the dollar store and Ikea, you could also collect wine bottles from friends and family and use for centerpieces if you don't want mason jars, if your FH or any male member of your family is outdoorsy and likes to use a saw they can cut wood slabs from trees to set your centerpieces on.

Here are some wide shots from my wedding, i did the colored tablecloths with lace runners. and i bought 20 paper lanterns of varied sizes and strands of globe lights that our DOC hung up for me over the dance floor (i think the paper lanterns and lights were around $150).
