Need ideas to involve my 11 year old son

Michelle, on August 12, 2011 at 9:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Ok ladies -

I need some help figuring out how to involve my 11 year old son (will be 12 at wedding). We thought about having him as part of the groomsman but then we got to talking and thought maybe something different.

My FH has a nephew who he adores - he is 8 and will be 9 at the wedding... I mentioned maybe making the two of them Ushers. We want to include both of them somehow.

Also- We want to do a special something during the ceremony for my son. We were leaning towards a sand ceremony or if any one has any good ideas?

FH and I might do an Irish knot tying - is there any that include children?

All suggestions welcomed!

Thank you=)

My son will be 11 at the wedding, and I think I am going to have him walk me down the aisle. Besides my FH that's the only other (Lil) man that's always been by myside.

I think it's great to include your children!!! My 2 daughers ages 14 & 9 did not want to be in the bridal party (they are both shy) so my 14 yr old is acting as our 'manager' to keep everyone on schedule (she asked to do this) and she's also playing hostess to our guests (she also asked to do this). My 9 yr old is actualling running the VIDEO CAMERA!! We sent her to a professional here in town to take 'lessons' on how to use the tripod etc and it was sooo fun for her. She wanted to do this badly and there was never a thought in my mind like oh well I dont want her messing up the video, both myself and my FH thought it was awesome! her practice videos were amazing! I did buy both girls their own GOWNS....but my advice to you would be to ASK your son what he feels comfortable doing or what he WANTS to do. I wish the best!!! Children truly are a blessing!

    Erin I LOVE THAT!

I dont want to spend money on a videographer! I think I might see if he wants to do that... he loves stuff like that. What a fantastic idea! Thank you so much Smiley smile
