Not necessary unless you’re doing a religious ceremony (Catholic, Jewish) with cultural traditions included.

The Catholic ones have responses that people need to say and prayers that need to be recited together.

Other than that, not necessary 😊

Like most people here, I thought they weren’t necessary and a waste of money. However, I will be making a version of that because I’ll gave a bilingual ceremony and I don’t want guests to feel lost. Me and my FH are originally from Puerto Rico, but I live in NYC and he’s a US Army Veteran, so we have many friends that only speak English and many family members that only speak Spanish. Our wedding ceremony will be catholic and we’lldo a bilingual mass, which means some readings will be in Spanish and some in English. Therefore, we’ll have them written in both languages on our “program” so that guests can follow what’s going on and don’t get lost.

I think they would be a nice touch, but there’s no way I can afford to spend money on them. Definitely not necessary.

I do not think they are necessary. That being said, since we are doing a full catholic nuptial mass and we want everyone unfamiliar with the structure to be able to follow along

Such a good point! I feel like it's nice to have them double as a fan for an outdoor summer wedding!

Aww that'll be so nice! My cousin did the same thing, she's crafty and wanted to design her own!

It's always so sad to see the beautiful ones just all end up in the trash!

Whelp I learned something today. Didn’t even think of programs. I can’t recall a single wedding I went to that had them. I’ll skip! 😁

Totally depends if it's a religious celebration that some of the guests might not know about or need guidance with. This one is absolutely case-by-case in my opinion.

Not needed for us. We'll have a short and sweet ceremony, and the reception is at the same place. If any direction is needed, thats what signage will be for.

We are not doing programs, for us it would be a total waste of money. We will have a sign with an order of events. This is our inspo picture!

We most likely will not be having a program. Our ceremony will be short and sweet. The reception will have signs designating types of food, etc. One piece of paper in a frame, minimal waste. I can then put that piece of paper, along with the invitation and other memories in a shadow box or frame with a pic to commemorate the day. Still in the planning process!

Nope, not necessary. I am not doing those. You will save money, paper, waste, and hassle.

One less thing to worry about.

Not doing them. I do think they're great for outdoor weddings though, because if it's hot then they can double as a fan.

I think it’s nice for guests to know what will go on especially because guests have various backgrounds and wouldn’t know what to do. Don’t let them feel ignored
