100% not necessary, especially when (like ours) the ceremony is short and sweet and without any unique rituals!

I really like the idea of a digital version if doing one at all.

We’re not doing them but we might make a welcome sign with who’s in the wedding for the church ceremony.

Unless there are specifics I need to know - hymns to be sung or things like a translation or an explanation of some part of the ceremony. They are a complete waste

    Unnecessary for us.

Our ceremony will be about 30 minutes, then straight into the reception at the same location.

No need to waste the time or money on these, as everyone throws them away.

That's a great idea! I feel like it makes it easier for you so you don't have a bunch of people asking you where to go after the ceremony!

We're not doing them. I think they're cute, but just another thing to worry about/coordinate/throw away at the end of the night, plus we have a small wedding party, aren't wouldn't have included parents on them, etc. We might do an easel sign with the schedule of events just so guests have an idea of the flow of the evening.

The real questions are these: 1) How much will your guests be involved in the ceremony? If all they have to do is sit there and watch then there's no need. We will have a church wedding with lots of singing so I feel like they need to have a reference. 2) Will your guests want them as a momento? Most probably won't, but a few cheesy people like me may.

Not necessary, but we're going to do these because we live in a hot climate and we're going to have them double as fans. Our wedding is in October, but it will still be at least 90 degrees lol.

I thought about doing them too, but decided not to. We’re also just doing an outdoor casual ceremony so I didn’t think it was necessary. Think it’s good if you’re having a formal church wedding. But you always can have them if you just like the idea of them and think it’ll add a nice touch. Totally up to you, it’s your big day!

My answer is sort-of. We don't need a program with participants listed or ceremony outline. BUT we'll probably need an "itinerary" that highlights unique features/activities + where/when they are. I'll probably create a program that has an overall timeline on one side and a featured itinerary on the other. I'll also create 2 signs for same.

If I wasn't planning some unusual activities I wouldn't go for any paper program at all - I'd just do some signage.

I don’t think they’re necessary and honestly probably a distraction. Because people are just looking at the program to see what comes next. I liken it to not giving a hard copy of a presentation I’m giving until I’m done.

My fiancé and I aren’t paying someone to do things we can do ourselves or we can ask a friend to do for free (sorry!), but these I think are a mixture. I think it depends on the type of wedding. For mine specifically, no!

Again, different for everyone. Our ceremony will be in Russian so a lot of our non-Russian guests will appreciate having an idea of what different parts of the ceremony mean.

This I agree with. We are having a full catholic mass (which I'm sure most people aren't thrilled about) so I want to outline the whole thing to make people more comfortable with the whole process.
