Nashville wedding under $5,000?!

Norene, on October 27, 2012 at 11:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

My fiancé and I are both students and we have a 2 y/o son. So we don't have a lot of money to pay for a wedding and neither of our families have the money to help us. We want a intimate wedding of no more than 60 people and I plan on having it Thursday Oct. 24, 2013. If I can keep it under 5,000 that'd be great! Any advice or ideas? Thanks!

You have the budget so that is helpful. Look for nontraditional venues. Check out the vendors section there are a lot of good choices.

Please don’t forget to change your avatar so that we remember you more easily. (it doesn't have to be a picture of you per-say) It will help us determine spam/trolls vs real bride and you'll get a better response. Many posts with the double rings don’t get opened. Here's how to do that and more :-)

    Heather,

I'm still looking for a photographer. I found one that I am interested in though but now I have to find it again because I lost it in my phone! So once I find the photographer I will let you know.

As far as the DJ goes we are thinking about renting a sound system and ipod dock or something of that sort and just doing that. BUT there is a really great DJ that I am interested in and considering. Called cosmo creations DJ service, very great prices! So check them out!

Are you going to be doing a lot of the decor yourself? My wedding is going to be very simple, so decor will def be to a minimal so that we can save money... plus I really love simple & pretty things lol.

Ok awesome! i've looked at cosmo before and they do have great prices. I have a day of cooridinator and she suggested jason middleton for dj so i sent him a message and im also going to talk to expressions of music tomorrow. i want to do alot of the decorations myself and have some coworkers who have really great ideas. my doc says her father in law does catering and flowers so we'll see about that. where are you getting married?

@Heather That's great! I still have a ton of things to look into. I want to have my wedding at Carnton Plantation... that's $2,000 though. But I'm still looking into other places. Any suggestions? Where are you getting married?

@Mrs. P Thank you I appreciate it so much!

    @Christina Thank you =)

    Hi Norene!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Having a budget is definitely a great starting point. Although you may be working with a limited budget you can still have an awesome wedding; especially considering you are planning on a small intimate wedding. Some vendors may even offer "early-bird" booking specials for couples who book so far in advance. If you are working with a planner, she/he will be an excellent resource in locating and negotiating with vendors/venues. A limited budget just means having to be a little more resourceful not limited on quality, so don't worry.

    Best Wishes,

    Tricia Holter

@norene im having my wedding at the cajun lake lodge...its located nears burns tn which is great for me because i live in dickson...also its beautiful...the package i chose as 3700 for up to 100 people...my doc negotiated a price...its still alot but i really wanted it there and now that i have it booked i feel sooooo excited about everything else! now how to figure out how to do some diy's lol. I talked with a few dj today. jason middleton quoted me 895 because he would have to set up 2 different systems and he said it included 5 hours and dance floor lighting. the other one im supposed to meet sat i think. very stressful!

    Welcome!!

I just had a $8K wedding (INCL EVERYTHING) for 55 ppl in DE. It can be done!!

Tip: Look into brunch receptons - we did and it was a blast - 2 action stations: omelette & pancakes - even had DJ & dancing - my DOC closed the blinds and lowered the lights so it was like an evening reception - at 50% off the cost of an evening reception - very fun!!!
