My mom wants me to change my dress

So I already picked out my wedding dress. I fell in love with and even started crying. I bought it and showed my mom and she hates it. She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to...

So I already picked out my wedding dress. I fell in love with and even started crying. I bought it and showed my mom and she hates it. She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to do. I felt so confident but now I don't. I don't want to look fat and bad on my wedding day..

Looking at your picture at first glance, I thought you used a stock photo with a model. You seriously look amazing!

That dress is incredible and you look amazing. I'm sorry your mom is not more supportive. I agree, tell your mother your feelings and if that doesn't shut her trap, just leave her out of the planning. It's your wedding, and the opinions that matter are you and FH. And trust me, he will not think you look fat or bad in your dress! You will take his breath away when you walk down the aisle.

That dress looks great on you! Don't listen to your mother. She's probably upset because it's not the dress she envisioned you wearing.

Ummm what?! Your mom is cray-cray!! You look stunning in that dress! If you felt good in it then you know it's yours. Don't listen to anyone else... I can't believe your own mother would say that to you! But don't let it get to you, you're stunning

Seriously, the thought that popped in my head when I saw the photos was, "What the hell is wrong with her mom?!" You look amazing. Not everyone can pull off mermaid/trumpet, but you can.

You look absolutely amazing in that dress, first of all. Second, it is so important that YOU love your dress. LOVE. I tried on the dress of my dreams, and the pushy saleswoman whispered to me in the fitting room "it's not flattering, your mom doesn't like it". I ended up with a dress my mom basically picked (I was paying) that is lovely and flattering, but it's not MY dress. In this case, 1000% you do you.

    You look beautiful!

Sounds like mom wasn't there for your "aha" moment. Maybe she wished she was there with you and this is her way of lashing out. (which Is totally unacceptable ) I would tell your mom to quit it and tell her that your dress is the dress.

You look gorgeous!someone said something to me about being more beautiful when I lost weight...i hadn't planned on losing any. I know it's hurtful and can shake your confidence, but try not to let it. Rock the dress!

Another vote for keeping your dress! You look absolutely awesome and will be gorgeous on your wedding day. I'm sorry your mother is being like this... But don't let her get in your head.

You look great and I love the dress!! I think sometimes people (especially parent or someone close like that) get a predetermined idea of what THEY want to see you in and I could see someone pushing the issue/trying to get their way......but it's your day and you look wonderful so I hope you feel a little better knowing everyone here thinks the same! Smiley smile

I think your dress is stunning, and if you feel like a princess in it then that's all that matters! Your mom should have enough respect to let it go if you have told her multiple times that you love your dress!
