So I already picked out my wedding dress. I fell in love with and even started crying. I bought it and showed my mom and she hates it. She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to...

So I already picked out my wedding dress. I fell in love with and even started crying. I bought it and showed my mom and she hates it. She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to do. I felt so confident but now I don't. I don't want to look fat and bad on my wedding day..

If she says she doesn't like your dress, tell her, 'Then it's a good thing I'm wearing it.'

I had the same thing happen to me, except she was there at the shop with me and my sister was giving me insults too. my advice is to get what you think you look good in and rock it! p.s. I love that dress!

Listen, your dress is GORGEOUS! And when it comes down to it, you are the bride. It's about you and how you feel and that special moment you have when you find "the" dress that everyone has been telling us about all our lives. Respectfully tell her that this is the dress and she will have to understand. Make it about you. Don't let her dull you sparkle! Cheesy, I know. But in this situation it's the absolute truth.

You look gorgeous, and PLEASE don't change your mind to please your mom. If you get another gown and this one was truly "it" for you, you'll never get over it.

Your mom got her wording wrong obviously. What she meant to say was that your gorgeous hour glass figure looks stunning in that beautiful dress.

I am so so sorry that your mom said that to you. You look absolutely stunning and in perfect shape. I honestly have no idea why anyone in the right mind would think anything negative! Rock that dress!

Does she often put you down or try to make you feel insecure, like to level the playing field? Without knowing your dynamic and all...

But again you look like a million bucks!

I wanted a dress from David's Bridal exactly like that (the off-shoulder lace sleeves), but it was a trumpet instead of a mermaid.

I ended up with a ballgown bateau neckline but that's a different story.

My mom wasn't too impressed with the dress I originally wanted, and one of my BM (friend from high school) said that I looked fat and short and that my hips looked distorted. I almost wanted to cry.

I don't know what to say, but I really hope you're mom gets over it and after the final fittings and on the wedding day with the whole package (makeup, hair, jewelry, veil) that she will fall in love with it. You look stunning. You have amazing taste (but then again I'm biased lol)
