My mom wants me to change my dress

So I already picked out my wedding dress. I fell in love with and even started crying. I bought it and showed my mom and she hates it. She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to...

She has been telling me I look fat, like a mushroom, I'm too short, and keeps sending me all these pictures of wedding dresses I should wear. I don't know what to do. I felt so confident but now I don't. I don't want to look fat and bad on my wedding day..

My mom called my first dress yellow (it was ivory). She hated it. Well, four years later, and I can't comfortably fit the gown, so I guess it's white gown central for me!

Go with what you love. I would've loved to wear my dress in a larger size but they (AA) no longer make it. You don't look like a mushroom.

Unless she means the lace and the Dictyophora Indusiata mushroom?

Honey, you look beautiful! It's not her choice. You go with the dress you love! My mom did something similar, but she told me that there's no way my marriage would last, because my wedding dress has black detailing. I ended up telling her to stfu because *I* bought the dress with MY money and I'm paying for my whole wedding and reception with MY money. So it isn't her choice to make. Eventually, she finally came around and started telling me that the dress would look nice on me, it's my style, etc. Hopefully your mom will do the same eventually.

You look so thin in your gown.

    I actually am a

Chubster and grew up with a father that never thought I really looked good no matter what unless I lost weight.

But you have an amazing figure and shame on your mother for taking her insecurities out in you. I would distance from now until the wedding.

Omg that dress is stunning and you look amazing in it!! If I have realized anything with planning my wedding is that everyone is going to have an opinion with what you are doing and how you are doing it. If you feel confident in that dress then that is your dress and you will rock it ..I would try not to worry what anyone else thinks..you are going to look amazing on your wedding day!

You look beautiful!! Did you pick the dress without your mom? Maybe she's hurt because you picked it without her. Try not to be discouraged. I'm sure your FH and everyone else will love it!

You. Look. Beautiful. Perfect dress. Perfect fit. Perfect body! So beautiful. Maybe you could tell her that you don't think it is her intent but that it feels like she is trying to be malicious because you are happy with your dress and you know it will be something your future spouse will love. Maybe if you need to be sharper with her and you have this kind of relationship, next time she says something, you can just say, "Well it's a good thing you're not the one I'm marrying because I know that my fiancé will love this, and that's what should matter right?"

That's the most beautiful mushroom I've ever seen.

If that's what a mushroom looks like, then I want to be one too.

You look gorgeous and I love the dress.

You look amazing in that dress. Do NOT let your mom make you feel any other way.

It is a fabulous dress and you look amazing. If you're old enough to get married, you're old enough t pick your own dress (although you're in good company-- I remember dress shopping with my bestie and HER mom suggested the dress was 'too low cut' (it had a sweetheart neckline-- nothing shocking) and when I said, "Paula, you know, your daughter's almost 30" (my friend was 29 at the time), two heads whipped around, and I heard

    "No, she's not"

    "No, I'm not!"

Anyway, the dress is gorgeous, tell your mom, "I heard you, I love you, and I respect your opinion. And this is the dress I'm choosing. The subject is closed".
