    Hi

    :-)

Its funny that guys think that wedding dress are not expensive. The majority of the dress are in the thousands. But we have had a few post here at WW that some brides have had good prices and beautiful dress. But the brital stores want an Arm & a leg now.

Thats okay, mine asked if I could rent mine that way we would have enough in our budget to BUY not rent but BUY him a designer tux. I laughed. I wouldnt even know where to go to rent a wedding dress. Do they even do that?

Perhaps it is a good idea to rent wedding dress because of the high price of new wedding dress. besides, you needn't take energy to preseve it.

I read reviews online of some dress shops that rent wedding dresses and they had horrible experiences. What shops do you guys know of here on the island??

Amber I was thinking something much worst about the term train lol

You know, there ARE some wedding dresses in that price range - maybe a little higher. You can try looking on oncewed.com or www.preownedweddingdresses.com. You'd probably find something much nicer than a rental at a fraction of the cost of new.

Lol! Guys... So clueless, my FH thought that we could have a Black Tie wedding for 150 people for $10K... Because you know, it's a nice party... Hahahahaha!

    Mine was $300. Loved it.

DH was surprised I found one that inexpensively b/c we watched SYTTD together so he wasn't so out of touch LOL

My dress was also $300 and its perfect. The dress was one of those things that I couldn't justify spending a fortune on.

My FH actually got mad when he found out that I spent $1000 on my dress-- until he found out that was a reasonable price. Then he apologized. So many guys are clueless about how much a wedding actually costs!

I prepped my fiance by watching hundreds of episodes of saying yes to the dress where people spend thousands and thousands on dresses. So when I spent $700 I seemed pretty frugal Smiley winking

I took FH to a bridal store and he looked at a tag and about died. I found a great deal on Craigslist, got a brand new $1000 dress withtags still on for $400. The only alteration i am getting done, is getting a hem and the train cut off, and that was less than $100!. The earrings i bought to wear with the dress, actually cost as much as the dress.

My DH had no idea about a lot of stuff - he thought weddings came together inexpensively and by magic. When the expenses crept toward 10K and he started to freak out, I started telling him what the different weddings we went to had probably cost. Nothing brought him to reality quite so quick as, "that generic ballroom wedding we went to was probably 40-50K."

FH has sat through way too many episodes of SYTTD and has seen brides go on there with unlimited budgets, blow their budgets out of the water, or be unable to find a dress they love within their lower budgets. When I went dress shopping, he knew what to "expect" for prices, and was THRILLED when I told him I stayed in my budget of $2000.

My FH thought they were more. When I told him the dresses I was looking at were around 1000 he was like oh that's it?! That's not bad!
