Men's wedding bands at Amazon.com

Melissa, on July 14, 2015 at 8:49 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

Browsing Amazon for a wedding band for my fiancé & I see some nice ones but I'm a bit concerned on the prices (they are so low) & the quality. Has anyone had any experience with purchasing this on Amazon & what are your opinions about it. Yes, I've looked at the reviews on there but I wanted another opinion.

What type of wedding band are you looking at? Gold, platinum, tungsten? I can tell you cheap tungsten is frequently poor quality, it hasn't been heat treated the same way as more expensive rings leaving it much more fragile. I know someone that dropped his cheap tungsten ring the night of his wedding and it shattered. My dh has dropped his higher quality tungsten ring many times and it has never shattered or chipped. For affordable wedding bands I would recommend Blue Nile, they offer high quality at good prices.

I purchased FH's ring from Etsy. We got it a few weeks ago and the quality is great and the price was very reasonable. I included the link of the one we chose. We are very outdoorsy so it fit him very well. Also, The man that owns the shop, Mike, is very easy to work with and he will send you a ring sizer so you know you're getting the right size! Good luck ring shopping!

We bought my husbands ring off ebay. The company we bought it from had great reviews and we were really pleased with the quality of the ring when we received it. Had to buy another one recently for him because his ring got shattered at work (tungsten carbide ring), and went with the same vendor.

Thank you all for the advice, this helps a lot! Now reading your responses I'm actually surprise everyone has purchased from a non-traditional (jewelry) store, I actually thought people would say the opposite, something traditional like Zales or Jareds but thank you all!!

I just ordered my fiance's ring from amazon. I sifted through the options and read reviews for days before choosing one. He works with his hands, so I figured this would be a good starter ring. We'll likely upgrade in the future, but he really likes this one for now.

DHs ring is from Amazon. He couldn't decide on a ring so I picked him up a $25 tungsten band and that's what he's wearing.

H's ring was $12 on Amazon. He gets compliments on it all the time. Blows my mind.

We got FH's ring from a JVL promotion. You can find coupon codes online. Two matching tungsten or titanium rings for just $50 shipping. We like them!

I'm all about Amazon for rings, especially the tungsten or titanium ones which FH wants. Jewelry stores charge $200 just because it's a jewelry store and "wedding" jewelry and Amazon sells the exact same ones for much less. As long as it is an approved Amazon seller, it's trustworthy. I freakin' love Amazon.

Purchased my fiance's ring from Amazon. It was less than 1/2 the price Jared was selling it for. If you have time, (not sure when your wedding date is, since it's set to private) find the ring you want and add it to your Amazon cart (make sure you're logged into your account so it stays in the cart). Then periodically check your cart every day or so, it will tell you all the items that have increased or decreased since the last time you checked. Prices fluctuate drastically on Amazon. The ring I bought was listed for $450ish when I originally looked at it. I ended up buying it for $288. Then they had it on a gold box deal for $266, so I bought it again and sent the other one back since it was in the return time frame. Jared was asking $650 for the same ring! Mark up on jewelry is ridiculous.

I recommend purchasing from Amazon directly, and not marketplace sellers. They are very easy to deal with as far as returns go (free return shipping if you don't like it).

We got FH's tungsten carbide ring from Amazon. Obviously he hasn't worn it day to day yet, but if it does happen to break or he happens to lose it, we aren't out much. We'll roll with it unless it's absolutely a disaster. For $20, I'm willing to take a chance.

My FH got his ring on amazon for $12 and he loves it, it's titanium with a carbon fiber inlay. I think it looks really nice too.

I decided on one from Amazon, the picture looks nice & there were some good reviews so I hope it looks just as nice in person. I got it today because of the prime day but it was already a good price at $22.99 so it really didn't make any difference. Tungsten cannot be resized.

Palladium has all the tough qualities as tungsten, but can be resized, however is more expensive.
