Unfortunately this means that I will only see him as often as he goes on "business trips." But he is loaded and thats O.K with me. Does anyone know if NYC will check if someone is married in another state? Or is this not a problem at all?

Just a few pieces of info for you.

Yes, New York will check if he is married in another state. Even if they didn't, you marriage wouldn't be valid.

Secondly, if you knowing try to marry a man that is already married, you can be charged as an accessory to polygamy. He will be charged with polygamy, and will go to federal prison.

How will spend his money while he is in prison?

And how does his wife feel about him being married to another woman- but only while he's on business trips...

Acutally, it is bigymay, a Class E felony in New York.

    Section 255.15 Bigamy

Bigamy is a class E felony.

    Section 255.17 Adultery

    My source.... http://wings.buffalo.edu/law/bclc/web/NewYork/ny3%28b%29.htm

if your stupid enough to risk it the punishment for a class e felony would not exceed four years, but there's monetary fines and the real wife could sue your ass for everything you've got.

    Wow. Just wow.

Even if you're not a troll, you're still a moron. Without a doubt. Why on earth would you even consider marrying a man who is already married to someone else??? The two of you deserve this picture.

Um. Assuming you're a real person and not a troll, have you ever heard the phrase 'Have your cake and eat it too?'

Do you REALLY think that poorly of yourself to allow the man you want to marry, to only want to be with you on business trips and not with you 24/7?? I think that says something about you and not him so much (aside from the obvious he's a cheating dirtbag or a polygamist). And my second point, does he wife know about you? Cause I'm pretty sure no woman would give up her marriage without a fight. Smiley tongue

Personally, the minute I would've heard my man was married, I'da drop kicked his ass to the curb. Smiley tongue

p.s. you wanna fight for him? go right ahead and end up in prison. I heard orange does wonders for the skin.

I am SO glad I have a real man who loves only me, does not sleep with anyone else and misses me so much when I am not with him. Reading about a-hats like this (which really do exist, as do the bimbettes who let guys walk all over them) makes me realize how proud I am of my wonderful FH and my own patience and strength that allowed me to wait for a wonderful man.

If he did this to her, he will do it to you, let's just get that right out at the start. I understand that 'things' happen, but don't let them happen to you; certainly don't MAKE them happen to you.

And now, for the practicalities. Yes, they will check (especially NY) and you won't get a license. And no self respecting officiant will marry you without one because we are then subject to being party to a fraud.

Time for you to move on, if indeed you are just punking all of us.

I really think that if he said that he would marry you, but he has a wife is another translation to, "I am only trying to get in your pants, but tell you random things just so you will let me when I am away from my wife." Also, I wouldn't marry a man who has to cheat on his wife to be with me IMO.

They would be able to tell if he is married especially when you get the marriage license you really don't have a relationship with him because he is someones elses husband. You can even check yourself. You need to get to the bottom of this because in the end you will lose not the other woman. Good Luck

LOL @ troll. It is ILLEGAL to marry twice in the US (not sure outside the US). Yes, they will check. Have him get a divorce before you even think about marrying him.

@ Michelle: Trolls are people who create internet aliases to start flame wars on chat boards and rile people up because they think it is funny.

That, we suspect, is what is going on here.

Wow, pretty sure I became dumber after reading this... ridiculous, selfish, stupid, and if you have to ask that question then you have no morals (or if it's even real!) Hope you enjoy sleeping alone at night while he's back in San Fran with his real wife doing the deed!
