Maid of Honor can’t make wedding

Stefani, on February 8, 2020 at 12:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
So, after a ton of stress and drama, we cancelled our big wedding and have scheduled a much smaller, intimate ceremony complete with my long distance BFF as my MOH. I found out today that due to some complications with her pregnancy, she can’t attend the wedding in July. I totally get it and am not at all upset. My question is... what are some ideas of ways to keep her involved and make her not feel as guilty (her word, not mine) for not being able to make it?

Hey Stefani! having her FaceTime and watch the ceremony is a great idea. I also love the idea of spending some time together one-on-one after the wedding. Depending on when she is due, this could be before or after baby!

I love the idea of FaceTime, but we are trying to have an unplugged ceremony to keep devices out of the pictures. How would I work around that?

Hm if you don't want to have any phones out, FaceTiming it wouldn't be possible at all. Unless you make an exception for this one phone and let other guests know why that specific phone is out?

Alternatively, you could reserve an empty seat for her. I know this is typically done when a friend or family member is deceased but it could be a nice gesture also!
