Length of Micro Wedding

Casey, on October 19, 2020 at 3:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
My fiancé and I are having a small ( 8 guests) micro wedding in on a creek In Sedona Arizona. My question is how long should our wedding be? We paid our vendor for 6 hours. Dinner will be made on site and we will have a lounge area set up with a fire pit. I’m worried because neither of our families are dancers and with our small guest list, I’m wondering how are guests will be entertained. I will have a playlist going with music and we are thinking of having lawn games (giant jenga, corn hole, and piñata). I just want to make sure guests are kept busy so things are awkward. Is 6 hours too long??

6 hours is kind of long with no dancing and only 8 guests. I’d stick to 4 personally. But depends on the guests. Are these people you can just talk to for HOURS AND HOURS? Or will you be ready to be done after only a short time? It’s up to you

Congratulations! We got married in Sedona on the 10th, gorgeous place to celebrate love 💕 I agree with PP, 6 hours is a long time for 8 people with no dancing or structured activities. We had a dinner for our microwedding (20 people including hubby and I) the night before the ceremony that lasted about 4 hours where our families met. That was the perfect amount of time. Talk to your vendors and see if they can work with you!

Six hours for eight people seems like a lot of time. I would probably shorten it to four hours.

I think it depends on your vendor set up and break down. Also how soon after the ceremony did you plan on serving dinner cutting the cake and also your first dance? I would personally make it 5 since you can only play corn hole 1 so many times and two the time of the day and if you have outdoor lighting or are you fighting sunset.

If those 8 guests all know each other, I predict a heck of a lot of chatting and catching up and hanging out.

Is set up and clean up included? If they are, that's a good amount of time.

I think 6 hours is a little long, I feel like thats the length of a full on wedding.

My idea for a schedule would look like:

That sounds great! I’m just wondering why a cocktail hour is really needed with so few guests? Maybe I’m just inexperienced lol. Seems like you could save money and nobody would miss it if it’s so intimate.
