KWR: Need help... I have bad scars from bites on my feet....

mlw, on April 30, 2016 at 2:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I've been trying to ignore it, but every time I look at them I get so sad. When we went last weekend to get the rest of my stuff for my dress, I looked great, until I looked down at my feet. Fleas the last couple years in Central Texas have been HORRID!! Las year we tried everything, this year we are hiring a pest control company. The problem is I have a reaction to their saliva and itch like CRAZY!! Then they turn into little blisters and pop. Either that, or if they are super deep, they leave these brown/purple spots. I spent last summer drugged out on Benadryl. Now I have discolored spots all over the tops of my feet and ankles from these little 8*$&@&%$!! My daughter says just to wear stocking, which I already planned on doing, even though it's not really me. But I' worried they might show through. Any other ideas??

Have you tried any dark spot remover creams? In the past I used what I believe was cocoa butter based and it worked fine. Maybe you can try a few different brands that work for your skin? Or if you can see a dermatologist, maybe they can prescribe something stronger

Try bio-oil! It's supposed to be really good for scars. Or Mederma. It also probably wouldn't hurt to see a dermatologist and see if they have any suggestions.

Tell me about it! I just got back from the beach in Mexico and the mosquitos really got my legs! Even though I took mosquito repellant. Im using this cream I got over there and Neosporin hopefully it helps. But bio oil does work too.

Try concealor the same way youd do on your face. You might need a different shade tho.

Try the scar minimizing products PP have mentioned. And for the day of, use concealer.

I second using Bio Oil. There's even a generic version. You just have to be religious about putting it on.

Mederma works for scars but you should definitely see a dermatologist.

I'd ask your doctor about healing them, but I would cover them with concealer for the wedding. Dermablend makes a great one.

I have the same reaction to ant bites, and just like you, they leave scars. I am using bio oil and it seems to be helping. I buy it from walmart.

But I also use cocoa butter everyday instead of lotion, so that may be helping also

Aww.. If it makes you feel better nobody will be really looking at your feet anyway. Just cover it up somewhat with makeup if it's still showing the day of the wedding and you will be okay.

Try Amazon for the bio oil. They have everything.

I wish, Natalie, but I chopped my dress. It's not quite tea-length, so I am not sure what I'd call it....
