Kissing at the reception

My FH and I are looking for creative ways to get us to kiss at the reception besides clinking of glasses- I can't stand that noise! :-/ My FH is a Basketball coach and thought it would be fun to have it related to that or sports. My FH is a Basketball coach and thought it would be fun to have it related to that or sports. Other friends of ours have done shooting a mini basketball in a hoop and if you make it they kiss, but I want to try to have something different if we can think of something. TIA!

I feel like any suggestions outside of clinking of glasses are going to either make it more complicated than it needs to be or turn the wedding reception into a teenager's "quick, the 'rents aren't home, call up the crew for spin the bottle!" basement gathering.

ETA: Dice are fine, I guess. I don't have any ideas because I'm not a big fan of this myself.

A friend of mine just had two giant blow up dice and you had to pay a dollar to roll the dice. Then the couple will only kiss if you roll a double.

Believe it or not, not everything needs to be made into a drinking game. It's a wedding, not a frat party.

I don't think that it's weird. Every single wedding that I have gone to has done the clinking of the glasses. I don't think that it is that bad, to be honest, but I saw how the couples reacted after the tenth time of it happening and then people would get the hint and stop. The noise is annoying, so I second the glasses being plastic. What about a toy basketball that you can shake like a maraca or something? Sorry I'm no help! Best of luck.

I'm too ADD to pay attention to ringing bells or clinking glasses. Plus it's weird. If you wanna kiss your husband, just do it!

The clinking of the glasses has happened at every wedding I've been too, is it annoying? Yes, but everyone does it anyways. But if I get hit with a basketball because some drunk asshole missed the hoop I will be a pissed off guest. I would just leave it alone, people will clink anyways and you will have so much else going on you won't just be focusing on that.

I've had couples do a menu like this, so the guest have to interact in some way to get the kids. You could probably customize something like this to include a sports element as a nod to you FH.

    Good luck!!!

My cousin did a cute thing at her wedding where she put the names of all the couples in a basket - every time people clinked glasses to have the couple kiss they drew a couple out of the basket. I suspect they rigged the game a bit as they had it be a lot of the elderly couples which was an adorable way to honor longterm love and commitment

I'd skip this whole idea. I don't get why people do this. If you want to kiss just do it.

I know this is not totally related, but hopefully you'll get a good laugh... FH and I have a college friend with an unfortunate habit of telling tall tales or exaggerating stories. We saw him recently at a different friend's wedding, and he kept on repeating this story about how at the last wedding he went to, he had convinced his date that it was proper etiquette to clink your glass whenever you got up from the table or sat back down. According to the story she was 100% convinced and kept doing it all night long. Our questions (Didn't she notice everyone else started clinking whenever she did? Didn't she notice other people weren't clinking when they stood up? Didn't she notice you laughing at her?) didn't phase him and he re-told it at least 3 times.

Eh I don't really like the concept of kissing on demand. I think it's cute the first time, but it gets real old real fast.

H's entire family started clinking their glasses literally 2 seconds after I had taken a HUGE bite of food. I gave them a dirty look but they would not stop until I kissed him. It was so annoying.

A wedding that I went to had people come up and tell a story about the bride or groom for a kiss and they also had people demonstrate a kiss and they had to replicate it.
