Reception toasts from your father, maid of honor, and best man can be incredibly moving and bring everyone to happy tears! 😭 That is, when the speeches are done well! On the other hand, they can also be awkward, embarrassing, and totally cringe-worthy when done poorly.

What's your vote? Should we put everyone out of their misery and cancel reception speeches? Or keep this personal and emotional toast tradition?

Keeping it sort of.. We’re going to give a thank you and welcome speech. And give our parents and bridal party a chance to say something if they want but aren’t requiring it.

Keep. It’s a nice moment to reminisce, tear up and laugh. I always love hearing what people have to say about the bride and groom.

Honestly doesn't matter to me. Keep or cancel. It's totally up to them.

Cancel! Unless someone has something spur of the moment, I don't feel it necessary.

Keeping this one. All of the groomsmen and bridesmaids will be asked if they want to give a speech a few weeks before the wedding. We trust our friends and we think that the speeches will be heartfelt and funny.

Uncertain at this time, we float back and forth on what we want to do for this matter.

Keep, but they're going to give them during dinner while everyone is eating so we keep things moving along.

Keeping. My dad is a phenomenal public speaker/toast giver, and I'm not missing out on that. Not sure who else we will ask to speak, as we're from different countries and not sure yet who will be attending from his side.

Cancel. People can say sweet or funny things to you directly. They don't need to share them with a room full of people.

Depends. If they want to fine but Im not forcing anyone to get up in front of 60+ people and public speak. Id wet my pants if it was me.
