Just feel like hearing everyone’s wedding plans!

Ggreer14, on September 14, 2022 at 3:18 PM Posted in Planning 1 55
Hi all! I could talk about weddings all day long lol I love hearing the different ideas and settings and overall vibe people are going for. I’m curious to hear what everyone is doing for their upcoming weddings! What’s your theme/color? Have you picked a dress yet? Are you doing a big wedding or micro wedding? Eloping? Any DIY projects? Have you already gotten married and wanna share your pictures? What kind of food are you having? Let’s hear it 😃

I'm still trying to get started with the planning. We are considering a barn styled location or country club and alternatively a Las Vegas one. We will probably have mixed ladies and gents on the grooms side and the bride's side. Maybe with blue suit and dress for the groom side and then dark green suits and lighter green dress on the other. There was one post in a reception hall with dark wood. The light green looked like a wonderful bright solution for that scenario.

We are still working out other details. But also was interrupted by health for several weeks.

We’re from NY but getting married in Maryland. It’s cheaper and I wanted an outdoor woods ceremony and everything up here is so expensive! The reception is in a barn. Very rustic vibe. Our main colors are burgundy and terracotta. And a guess a bit of green as all of our stationary is green. My fiancé is wearing a burgundy suit and his guys will wear dark grey and the girls are in terracotta dresses. We’ll have some white pumpkins for decor inside the barn and some real ones as decor for the ceremony! We rented a double triangle arch. I plan to make the centerpiece flowers. We're only having 50 people including ourselves. We each only have contact with one side of our family and we have a very small friend group. Here’s some pics of stuff I can share! I still have to order a lot of decorJust feel like hearing everyone’s wedding plans! 1

Wedding planning is in full effect! 😍 we just booked our venue for an October 2023 wedding! What's saving me alot is not having to buy a bunch of decor. Our venue provides it all except flowers. We are going for an elegant champagne/gold and cream colors. We haven't booked any other vendors just yet but currently getting quotes. I have to say seeing all the pricing and All the things that go with wedding planning is a bit overwhelming 😳 1 year to plan sooo I should be fine right ?!? 😅

It is interesting seeing all the things you end up collecting in preparation for the wedding.

No I ordered them from various sellers on Etsy! I knew I wanted that cascading bouquet and there was no way I could do that myself 😅 originally I was going to order wood flowers and do the arch flowers myself and the bridesmaids bouquets and boutonnières but found it would’ve cost me about the same to buy them and saved me a lot of time and frustration. I did order wood flowers to do the centerpieces myself though! That I’m excited about

I love this thread! I am the same way- I love hearing about everyone’s unique visions for their weddings! We are having a destination micro wedding (about 30 people) in New Orleans. We are embracing the dark, romantic, mysterious vibe of NOLA. The night before our wedding we will be hosting a welcome dinner for all our guests in a gorgeous outdoor courtyard, with limitless food and cocktails. Then we will be treating everyone to a haunted history walking tour through the dark streets of the French Quarter. The following night we’ll be married in a courtyard under twinkle lights in front of a huge black fountain. A string trio will be playing alternative music and I’ll be wearing a super dramatic dress. Our wedding color is black. We have hired a Creole chef who will be preparing a lot of NOLA staples, with a few “safe” options too. Lots of great food and great cocktails with our closest friends. Then we’ll keep the party going by bar hopping on Bourbon Street- complete with an outfit change for both myself and my FH. Our main goal is to embrace the NOLA vibe and show our guests an amazing time!

I'm so, so, so excited for my upcoming wedding! Our wedding date is November 10th, 2022, which is a Thursday. Our venue doesn't do many Thursday weddings, so it was fun to change it up for them!

We're getting married in Ohio, in a lovely castle in the middle of the woods! Our wedding date is supposed to be on or right before the huge "peak of fall" colors truly shine!

We're getting married outside in a covered pavilion, looking over the forest below us! Our cocktail hour and reception are both inside the lavish ballroom next to the pavilion.

I've found, purchased, and picked up my dress! Currently in the process of having it altered, and I'm excited about that process as my dress alteration-ist is superb and has a fantastic attitude~

Our wedding colors are: black, three different shades of green (sage, forest green, and emerald green), and gold! Our main vibes we're trying to achieve are bohemian with lots of eucalyptus and lavender throughout the entire venue space!

We've booked all of our vendors, and we're including a fantastic photobooth option since our policy for the wedding itself is "cellphone free".

Our cake is going to be magical, as the baker said today! She's just excited for the wedding as we are, and she's dreamed of visiting our venue location for years now. Smiley laugh

Pretty much everything is good to go on our end, just counting down the days! We're most likely getting our marriage license in the first of October so we can make sure that's handled early enough.

    Happy planning, brides~ Smiley heart

I love all the stuff you're doing for your guests! I wish we could do something like that but just can't afford it. Also jealous you'll be going on a haunted tour! I love stuff like that. I dig the dark theme you're going for. You have to share photos after. I want to see!

Try to just breathe through it. I booked my wedding last September for October this year and only gave myself a year! I know so many vendors are booked for a lot of next year so as long as you stay on top of it and book everyone as soon as you can you'll be fine! I recommend getting a binder and printing all of your contracts after you book that way you'll have easy access to everything. Also, definitely try to talk to all the important vendors (DJ, coordinator, photographer/ videographer, officiant) on the phone or over zoom before booking. We ended up liking vendors online or through email and then didn't vibe with them over the phone and realized they weren't for us. Also, a day of coordinator! She has been so helpful to us answering any questions I've had in the last year and was there for our 30 walk through and is contacting all of our vendors now that we're a few weeks away to get everyone on the same page of when to show up etc. So many people who didn't get one said they regretted it. IT'll be so nice to have her worry about all the small details day of so myself or family won't have to!

It can totally get overwhelming seeing the price tag and worrying about everything that needs to get done. You got this! I can answer any questions if you need some advice Smiley smile

Good luck with all the planning!

I love this!! We are so excited and are booking our venue in Wyoming for September 2023! We get to book the whole venue for the weekend so our family is staying there with us. We’re having an outdoor wedding with a beautiful pavilion and river in the background! The theme is country/cowboy chic and our colors are terracotta, eucalyptus green, champagne rose, and steel grey!
I’ve picked my dress already and can’t wait to wear it on the big day!! My fiancé is wearing a steel grey sports coat with a black cowboy hat and the groomsmen are all wearing black sports coats and grey hats. My bridesmaids are wearing different style and colored dresses!
We’re still making our guest list but so far we’re planning on a pretty big wedding! Between 500-600! That’s all we’ve got planned so far and we’re so excited!!

Thank you so much! I always love other brides who dig a darker vibe for weddings 🖤 The silver lining of having to postpone twice (pandemic) is that we had twice as long to save money, so we were able to add fun experiences for us and our guests.

The marriage license makes it feel so real! We just got ours last week. The alteration process is so fun! I also found such a sweet woman to do mine and I have my final fitting in two days and I can't wait to take my dress home. Also I love the colors you're going for. You gotta share after the wedding!

Aww this is such a fun thread!!

We're getting married end of January 2023 in Puerto Rico at Hotel El Convento, which is this super old hotel that used to be a convent at one point. We're going to have anywhere from 40-70 guests I think (currently at 32 and its basically only the bridal party and immediate family).

We're going for a tropical glam feel so asking for semi formal and formal dress code. Our flowers are orchids, hydrangeas and roses with some monstera and fern. I'm REALLY excited about the monstera- they're my absolute favorite. We've got a couple personalized things in the form of having a memory table for family that has recently passed away, and then I'm making the favors that double as seating indicators- epoxy ornaments with embedded flowers that say the guest name and San Juan, PR

Bridesmaids are going to be in emerald green and the groomsmen will be in black suits with a white collarless shirt. Groom is wearing a black suit with a black collarless suit and will have a single white orchid for his lapel.

My dress just came in and my first fitting is end of October. A fit and flare/mermaid type dress with off the shoulder straps in blush. It's got this gorgeous tulle that the sparkles in it are basically like what rain on a spiderweb looks like. I'm obsessed.

We're making it into a family vacation too so we've got this huge airbnb on the water that we have all family and bridal party staying at and then after the wedding we'll hang out with them and go to the rainforest and snorkeling and all that fun stuff!!

Hi! I got married in May but I still lurk on here and post occasionally. We were originally going to get married in 2021 but postponed a whole year for COVID, so hopefully nobody has to do that anymore!

We had an outdoor ceremony and indoor rception with about 140 people. My husband has a huge close family with a lot of cousins, so we wanted to celebrate with all of them. We went for a pretty traditional springtime vibe, but with origami decorations (mix of DIY and bought off Etsy). My brother-in-law officiated and our sisters were the bridesmaids. I had to buy my dress during peak social distancing, so I couldn't bring many people to my appointment, but it was actually the first dress I tried on. Some of my husband's relatives are very religious Jewish, so we brought in a kosher caterer and the food was amazing! We had an outdoor cocktail hour with a ton of hors d'oeuvre stations, then a plated dinner inside, then an epic dessert station. We were absolutely exhausted when it was over, but we're so glad we finally got to do it surrounded by all our loved ones.

I got married this past July! Our colors were cerulean blue, sparkly silver, and white. Our ceremony was outdoors among tall trees and on a lake, and our reception was both indoors and outdoors (dinner/dancing indoors, and lawn games/fire pit/cocktail tables outside). The weather ended up perfect on our wedding day!! We had around 60 guests. Since most of our guests had never visited the town that we hosted our wedding in, we wanted to show everyone a few of our favorite spots in the area. So we booked a party bus for the day after our wedding, where we took our guests to a winery, a brewery, and a distillery, as well as provided a pizza dinner from our favorite local restaurant afterwards. I didn't take too many photos on my phone that day, but here are a couple that I do have!
