June 2020 brides, what are you going to do?

Alexis, on April 14, 2020 at 11:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 7
I’m supposed to get married June 13, 2020. My fiancé and I are optimistic and hoping that the wedding will still happen as planned. We’re waiting it out as long as possible before we make any changes.

I’m curious to know, what are my fellow June brides are going to do?

I was a June 6th bride. We postponed. Everything is so up in the air and it was causing me too much anxiety. We decided to switch our date to June 5th, 2021 because there is more than likely going to be a second wave that hits end of summer or during the fall. Didn’t want to take any risks and have to end up postponing it yet again. Only 416 more days...

June 6 Bride here and we just postponed to Nov 7. I couldn’t handle all the up in the air and worrying. I’m still worrying even being that far out! Ugh I hate this!

My wedding is scheduled for June 27th in N.C. We are waiting until mid-May as well to make that call. However this virus plays out we are still getting married on the 27th. We have a plan b in place already if we are unable to hosts 250 guests. Thankfully our reception venue and other vendors are working with us in the event the big celebration has to be moved. The only thing I really know for sure is I’m going to marry the man that I love on the 27th. It just maybe on much smaller scale. If that happens, we will plan a big celebration for later and yes I will wear my wedding dress again. Lol

I was a June 27th Bride postponed to December 12th. We postponed a couple of weeks ago when the state of VA announced a Stay in Place through June 10th. It was all too soon for us to even think about having our wedding that close to all this madness.

Hi Alexis! This is definitely an uncertain time for everyone! It sounds like a lot of early June couples are proactively rescheduling their celebrations just to be safe. Even if businesses open back up, you'll still need to consider whether or not your guests will feel comfortable traveling or gathering in large groups.

Where will your wedding take place, and how many people are on the guest list? Those are two big factors I'd think through as well because local trends and guidelines differ greatly!

Make sure to check out the helpful resources we've started gathering in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and you can connect with other June brides facing the same decisions in these discussions:

I am also getting married on June 13th. We have not canceled or postponed yet. I can not move my wedding up more than 2 months due to our jobs and I am not waiting anyone year. (Me and my fiancé aren’t moving in together until after we’re married) prayers that we can still have our dream wedding on our set date!
