This was really hard for us too (we are also June 20, 2020). We are having a destination wedding, though, and because travel is involved for everyone, we decided to push it ahead one year to 2021. We talked with all of our vendors and they were ALL available and totally accommodating, so it made the decision simple for us. Once we made it = relief. While I'm hoping things are closer to normal by then, that's a lot of people to have in one place together if things are not quite back to normal. I'm afraid you might have people cancelling on you, too - that's one reason we made the decision now, as guests were starting to cancel outright. Ultimately, we are going to elope on 6/20 of this year with help from our church/pastor. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I totally understand how you feel! Our wedding date was also June 20th and we invited 300 people to our reception. We live in Ohio and are still on a stay at home order until at least the middle of May. We decided this week to go ahead and postpone until October 3rd, 2020 which took a lot of stress away from us. We are thinking about still getting married on June 20th with just our immediate family so that way we still are getting married on the date we wanted. It is a hard decision to make but everything will work out the way it is supposed to! Good luck with everything

We did decide lastnight to cancel our reception and have it sometime next summer. Still plan on getting married on June 20th this year tho!

We're neighbors below you in IL! Didn't WI extend their stay at home order until May 24th? That seems rather close to the date of your wedding, your best hope is that in a perfect situation you guys would be in phase 2 of return. I think at this point it's a personal choice. Ask your guests if they would be comfortable coming still or not. Think about if you have a lot guest considered to be part of the vulnerable population and if you would want to risk them coming. Think about if you would be okay having to cut down the guest list to have it or ok with your wedding not looking quite like you planned - amount of people allowed at tables, whether or not people can go up to the bar, differences in how food and drink may be served, whether tables will have to be spaced differently, etc. Would you lose a lot of money if you rescheduled. Lots to considered to help you make the best choice! I hope you find peace and happiness with whatever you choose!!

I'm sorry you've had to make the tough decision to postpone your reception. I've been there and know exactly what you're going through. Our original date was March 22nd, and we postponed to June 28th. We live in Florida, where our governor officially announced the beginning of phase 1 of reopening businesses starting on Monday. So we're still holding onto hope! Delayed or not, you will have you special day and it will be amazing!

We are in rural Wisconsin as well and have a June 27th date with 150 people invited. Our backup date is October 31st. I put the backup date in the invitations. My fiancé owns a beautiful dairy farm and I’ve even tossed the idea of just getting married there. The not knowing is the stressful part. We decided that if things aren’t open we will get married on June 27th with just our 7 kids and my best friend as the officiant and have the reception on 10/31 or later. If I had my choice at this point, I’d forget the whole party, but I have 5 friends who bought bridesmaids dresses along with FH’s 4 daughters. They already lost deposits on the VRBO in Nashville for my bachelorette party. I’m honestly stressing more about them wasting their money than about us. Your plan sounds great! Next summer will be much better!
