July 2020 Weddings

Namanda, on March 20, 2020 at 12:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 3 17
I'm wondering what headspace the July brides are in. Our wedding day is July 13th but with the shutdowns/job insecurity/panic from COVID-19 I'm a little nervous. Anyone else feel that way? Do you think things will calm down by then?

We are not changing anything so far. However, it’ll be just us and our 3 kids and our son’s gf whose going to be at our wedding vow renewal, in Oahu.

I just hope for the better everywhere. I can’t wait for the world to be back into normal again 😞

We're July 18th. I talked to the owners of the venue and they aren't worried yet. Unfortunately wedding insurances are already saying "no COVID coverage". I'm moving forward with the July plans, but at the same time I'm creating a plan B and plan C. I'm also holding off on invites for another couple weeks just in case the date has to change. Our guests got Save the Dates so they all know the planned date and place anyway.

Hoping for the best, but planning for the worst.

We're July 4th. We're definitely anxious, but it's too soon to make any decisions. We're going to see what state the world is in come May.

July 25th - in my opinion it is too early to make the call... but of course, if you are very anxious about it you can make the call know and push back. I don't think it is too early though to think of a contingency plan.

Ours is July 2nd. We were just about to order our invitations but decided to hold off for a couple of weeks to see how things are. I reached out to our venue yesterday and they did not seem concerned. I really hope it all pans out for us but also saddened for any bride who has had to postpone or cancel!

Ours is July 11th. We are going forward with it as of now. There’s days I start to get stressed out thinking of the what if’s but I have to remind myself it’s still 3 1/2 months away and there’s time for things to change and improve. I feel bad for all of the brides that have to postpone their wedding

July 11th here. Prepared to cancel if needed, but holding off on making that decision. We've slowed down on planning and aren't making any further payments until we get a better picture. We'll reassess in mid-May.

Across the board it sounds like July couples are understandably anxious, but keeping their original plans and watching and waiting for now. Proactively reviewing vendor contracts and thinking about what plan B could look like has also been helpful for personal peace of mind!

FYI - We've started gathering initial resources in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and I've also seen a lot of July brides connecting in this discussion: July 2020 Weddings!

We are 7/26/20 and are definitely postponing for all the reasons you listed and more. That’s just what feels best to us. Everyone has to do what’s best for them. It sucks, but I’m looking at the bright side. More time to save and cash flow the wedding, more time to lose weight LOL and we will be able to have all our loved ones there. That’s not guaranteed this summer 😞 We will still go to town hall and get married within the next couple of months so that’s exciting too ❤️

I’m getting nervous but my fiancé keeps thinking we are okay. I think we are okay but I think we are okay in the sense of the event can go on but I think we will have a very low low guest count... I don’t know if a low guest count means we should just postpone or if the show should go on.

Good to know I'm not alone in that. People keep saying wait until May to make the call.
