Is this tacky?

Jasmine, on September 9, 2012 at 4:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

So at first I was going to do Chinese buffet, and then I was going to cook the food for 90 people, and now I am just going to do Popeye's. I call and ask my guests what would they prefer to each at the wedding and chicken was out of everyone's mouth. I call Popeye's and its really cheap to do food for there compares to what I was doing before. Is this tacky to do Popeye's?

If this is what you have to do..no it's not tacky..what else are you having with the chicken? are you making side dishes or buying everything from popeyes?

Lots of places "Cater" so go for it... Popeyes is AWESOME. lol.... Get it, set it up with trays and sternos and plates, etc.... as long as the lids stay on, and the sides stay warm.. serve a nice salad with it, rolls etc. Its fine. I'd totally eat it and be a happy girl!

I think it don't matter where you get the food from. It's all about the presentation ! I wouldn't have 30 Popeyes chicken boxes just on the table. Maybe get some chafing dishes to display and keep warm. You could even go to the dollar store and get foil pans and have the burner thing under it.

Also keep in mind everyone might not like chicken, so have some other options available.

FYI: I'm not sure where you are located but Jason's Deli cater for less than $8.00 a person . They have salads, pasta, pot roast and etc.

OMG! MyLo and I went to a wedding yesterday catered by Popeye's. DELICIOUS! I love Popeye's chicken and was syked when I saw their entire menu at the reception. When I spoke with the bride, she told me for a guest list of 200 it cost less than $2000 (alcohol not included)

We are doing a southern style buffett, so we are now considering Popeye's for our reception as well.

My friends did KFC because it was delicious and cheaper. I LOVE popeyes. Frankly, I'd rather have that at a wedding than the same old roasted potatoes and green bean almondine Smiley winking Smart move, imho.

I don't know how honest to goodness food and feeding people can ever be tacky! Enjoy!

I know this is an older post, but could you give me some additional details on how this turned out? My fiancé and I would like to have Popeyes at our reception too and would love any information you have on how it went (guest opinion, etc.).

    Thanks in advance!
