Is anyone else afraid they might start crying at the altar?

I am generally thought of as pretty level-headed and not overly emotional; however, if I am moved, I will cry. I simply find things moving sometimes and the feeling overwhelms me. So, how in the heck am I not going to be overwhelmed with emotion at my own wedding? Are any of you ladies afraid that...

Has anyone ever seen this occur before?

Me Me Me...I am really hoping I wont because I did that at my civil ceremony and made everyone else cry too. I missed my dad and he wont make it to my wedding either.

Don't worry, almost every bride (and some grooms) cry on the altar. Always make sure I capture those tears of joy, it's best when you get all the bridesmaids with tears in their eyes! Smiley smile

Just don't hold it back, the face you'll make is very strange!

I was MOH in my sister's wedding and I sobbed so hard that she turned around to laugh at me in the middle of the ceremony. So I know I'm going to be a MESS! I just hope I can get it together and that I don't look all gross and splotchy for pics!

(BTW, @Matt, I just emailed you Smiley smile

I am really worried about it! My FS has already been begging me not to, he hates when girls cry and he said he'll worry that i'm not happy lol! He's not a crier so he doesn't understand, but i know he'll make silly jokes to me to make me stop Smiley smile

I had my wedding shower this weekend, and I cried at least three times. Lol. I will most definitely be crying the whole way down the aisle!

Awww I'm just trying to pinpoint WHEN I'll cry..not if haha I am a cryer and will cry as I start down the aisle most likely because my gpa is VERY emotional and easily moved to tears and I'm his "little lady" and he's giving me away. Soooo pretty sure I'll be emotional from the get go. That and my best friend is standing so he's facing me in the wedding party and he is a cryer but my MOH/SIL is trying to figure out ways to make me laugh quietly if it gets too sappy hahaha

I think is is completly OK to cry. I just went to a wedding this weekend and the bride didn't shed a tear and I thought that was kinda weird! I know I'm going to cry! My FS sister balled she barley was able to say husband during her vows!

I'm a crier... I know I won't be able to hold it back. I've only seen FS cry one time, in the 8 years we've been together, and that was when we were thinking about splitting up. I'm sure I'll also cry during my father - daughter dance.... Butterfly Kisses....

My problem is I'm not a cryer so I really wouldn't know what to do if I start. I am afraid of gettin up there and losing it. I am soooo happy the time we will be at the alter should only be a total of like 20 minutes just to keep me in check...LOL. I think I'll be okay as long as I just start to get tears in my eyes 'cause I can usually hold them for a few minutes.

Also to help me we are doing a ring only ceremony with no vows, FFIL will be doing the wedding and my uncle is a Reverend so in the middle he will come down and say a prayer, then do a blessing on the marriage and we will exchange rings and kiss! Smiley smile

I officiated a small beach wedding last evening. The B&G just barely held it together, but his 2 kids and her 2 kids were all sobbing. One of the 4 was a teenage boy.

I'm not a crier at all. But we did our family ceremony in May and I was bawling my eyes out. DS never cries and he was tearing up, which is what made me lose it! LOL. And then we did our beach wedding last month and the same thing happened. Just put on the waterproof mascara!

I'm crying right now sitting at my desk thinking about the day. I'm going to be a mess. I will cry the whole time, and we are doing a full mass -apx an hour long. I cried this weekend at our retreat when they had a prayer to bless our hands for marriage. If you clear your throat it helps to stop the tears.

I forgot to mention... My face turns bright red and I break out in hives on my neck, back and chest. I'm definitly investing in a good make artist to pre-cover so it doesn't show through.

I cry at weddings on tv when they're not even real!!!

I think I'm gonna start bawlin when I see my dad, and all the way up the aisle. I will most definitely cry during my father daughter dance. It's a sweet song that I cry when I hear now just THINKING about dancing with my daddy to it.
