Is a wedding for 8000.00 possible?

Sonia, on August 5, 2011 at 7:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

I was just proposed three days ago!!! I would like a reception outdoors near a beach, music, and food. Any recommendations?

Def possible. Find out the info in your area, crunch the numbers, figure out how much food and drink and venue/dj all costs first..and photog, only then do you determine the number of guests..guest number is one of , if not THE best way to keep costs down. food and drink and gratuity really add up! plus centerpieces.

It would depend on how many people you're having, but it's definitely possible to have a wedding for $8000 (or less!).

Congrats! It's definitely possible but to help you we would need some more information, such as where you are and how many people you'd like to have...

Someone was just talking about her luck with an all-inclusive wedding. Try to google it and put "all inclusive wedding package beach" and the zip code. See what comes up. You can usually find something, and the prices are all over the board.

Also it depends a lot on your region..some places just cost more than others in terms of venue prices, DJs, and other vendors.

edited to add PS: congrats on your engagement!! :-)

Congrats on your engagement. It is very possible to have a beautiful wedding for $8k or less. My wedding budget is $6k but I'm planning on making a lot of the smaller things myself. The dinner is probably going to be the biggest cost and that ultimately revolves around your guest list. If you're looking to cut costs, consider a mostly DIY wedding.

    Congratulations on the engagement!

It is possible, but keep the guest list very small.

Make priorities about what is most important to you for your wedding, and create your budget that way. If you don't have to have something, you don't really need it.

So possible. I will have 150 guests, Sat wedding popular venue, enough food and alcohol for everyone and I am only at $5000. It all depends on what is important to you.

    Congrats and welcome to WW.

Yep, it's possible. The best thing FH and I did was individually decide what I/he REALLY wants and what I/he REALLY didn't care about. We compared notes and decided what WE wanted a lot, and what we didn't care much about, and what was in between. Stay realistic, you probably can't spend $2-3k on your dress, and still feed 200 guests a plated dinner with an open bar... but be realistic and you'll be fine.

I can't find a venue for less than $4000 with a minimum of 50 guests and that is all inclusive as well. How can you possibly have $5000 with 150 people???

YUP! Sure can.. I am getting married in Central Florida for $8000 including the honeymoon! You have to plan in advance and be creative that's all. It doesn't mean you have to have plastic cutlery or dollar store centerpieces either! I saved a ton of money using craigslist to buy once-used items from other brides and I also purchased on weddingbee.com wedding classifieds! I used 40% off coupons for anything I bought at Michaels (using my phone app) and I ordered all my printed material on Vistaprint mostly free paying only S&H. My honeymoon is a cruise which is super affordable! Hope this helps Smiley smile
