Invitations: A list & B list ??

OctoberBride, on June 27, 2017 at 5:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 108

Hi gals. Is anyone doing an A list and B list?

When would you send out each list (and when would RSVP's be due) for a wedding at end of October? I am getting conflicting information on how to space it out and now I am getting a bit confused....

Thank you Smiley smile

    No, because it's rude.

B lists are rude, you won't find help with them here.

Never B list guests PLEASE. Also, search for threads related to this topic.

I'm sending out invites to OOT guests a month before I send them out to my in town guests.

You mean when do you invite the people who weren't good enough for the first round of invites?

Why is this even a thing?

It's so rude to B-List. Those guests will know they've been b-listed because they get an invitation so late. You'll look gift grabby and it's a really rude thing to do the whole "you weren't important enough to be invited the first time but since some of my a-listers couldn't make it, I guess you can have a short notice invite..."

    Ugh.

@Lindsey because if my OOT invites decline, I'll invite people in town. I mean, why would you think?

I didn't realize it's because you were B-listing. Just wanted some clarification because it seemed odd, but now I know it's because you're being rude. Carry on.

Chivy might be sending oot guests invites extra early so they can plan for accommodations. I don't see that as being b listed. If Chivy opts not to do an STD then it is ok in my book.

My feelings would be pretty hurt if I got my invite a month or two after other people in my circle got their invites because I would know I'd been b-listed. Don't do it. It's rude. Save more money or cut your list.

The people you want to invite and the people you have to invite are not always the same. FH and I each got X amount of people we can invite. His are all OOT. So you're gotdamn right I'm going to be inviting my in town friends when/if his decline. No shame over here.

What do you mean you each "got" a certain number of invitations. It's your wedding. You can invite whomever you want.
