Initial guest list count - Estimate?

We thought 250 would show up. we are now thinking 300-325 are going to show up.

Invite list is itching near 500 (we gave everyone +1s and invited kids and are not expecting a lot of my OOT family to come - like my cousin out in Australia). Invites go out on 2/16 so we will find out how good of estimators we are.

We initially wanted around 75-80 but are actually inviting 100. Since this is a destination wedding hopefully only about 75-80 will show up.

We have 128 on our list now, but that includes some older people that I don't think will make the trip, and a conservative plus 1 count. I'm hoping for about 110, but 100 would be ideal.

These numbers over 200 make me want to throw up because a lot of people would stress me out.

We started with 160 and cut it to 94 - really hoping around 80-85 show.

We invited 255, 177 said yes. Then we had a bunch of no shows and then we had at least 2 people come that were not invited and 1 come that said no but showed up to just the ceremony for some reason. We thought about 150 would come so we were happy we had more say yes.

We are inviting 417, our minimum is 350. I really hope we are close to 350... a lot of out of state guests have mentioned that they are coming, and some in state guests are invited to another wedding that day so I don't really know what to expect anymore.

I think the guest list could've easily gotten to 250++ if I didn't put a cap in it lol

We wanted to keep it at 100 we're at 117.. I'm pretty sure around 8-9 aren't coming so we aren't going over too much!

We initially wanted to keep it at 125 but we are currently at 200.

We initially were hoping for a semi smallish wedding and were thinking about 100-125. But we have invited 240. Hoping for 175-180. But realistically probably going to have about 200-210 come. Sending invites out next week...so im anxious to get RSVPs rolling in.

@ Jenna - you really only have less than 1/2 your guest list coming? are you sad or happy? i think i'd have mixed emotions but be so psyched to save that money!

I wish I could have a smaller guest list but know that isn't happening! Lol

When we first started discussing what we wanted we were thinking "about a 100" as a ballpark. After putting together the 'max' guest list of all family and friends we wanted to invite, it came to 102 (I was so happy!). Our venue max is 100 but we aren't too worried. Both of us ended up off the map compared to where our families are located so since the closest relative (my dad) lives 7 hours away and most of FH's family is 14-20 hours away, we know at least 12-20 people won't be coming due to health or finances. We're just sending them an invite mostly out of courtesy (and on the off chance they can make it )

Estimate was 140, inviting: 200, expecting to show up: 165

Started with 160 went down to 115 and 2 months away I am at 130. Lets see what we end up with.

My first wedding was on a boat that could only hold about 100 people. I think we invited about 110 and about 95 showed. I just thought it was the appeal of the boat ride that brought everyone LOL. It was tight but great! This wedding we were talking about 60 at first but now planning on inviting about 100. Many live in the UK so not sure who will pay to make the trip.

@SnappyLove2015: yep. less than half. both FH and i are a little disappointed. especially in a couple specific people who we could have sworn would be there. whatever though. part of me kind of expected it. we are technically having a destination type wedding. my family is all coming from oregon/washington. FH's family is all coming from mississippi and at least 3 hours away here in texas. EVERYONE has to travel to it. so, it's to be expected. still really sucks though.

i even had my matron of honor drop out a little over a month ago because, even with almost 2 years notice, she couldn't get time off work. or, no, her husband couldn't get time off work. apparently she can't go anywhere on her own. smh.

i refuse to let it ruin my day. i'm over it. fuck them. it makes me super grateful for the people that are actually making the effort to be there. so thankful. and yeah, we are saving about $2grand in catering cost. so that doesn't hurt. lol.

We initially wanted 30, but ended up with 52 total, I think. Only about 35-40 will show.

The guest list is stressing me out. We only want to invite 50 because as soon as we get more than that the venue cost goes up $500. It's a destination wedding so I'm sure not everyone that's invited will show BUT YOU NEVER KNOW! And I don't wanna be stuck with extra costs (venue, food, chair rentals etc.)

I guessed at inviting 120, we ended up inviting 145, I'm guessing the number of guests will be closer to the 100 range...at 50 now..but we still have a month til deadline....
