As in what to have ? Are you having it catered or are you cooking yourself? Do you want buffet or plates?

As in is it worth doing a reception or just going to a nice restaurant since it's not that many people?

Would do a restaurant. Why pay for set up and clean up. You can maybe do family style or pet plate.

Oh sorry!!!! Hmm you could honestly do either one - still have a small reception or just dinner with everyone would be fine too! I guess it’s more whatever style/vision you have ! Check out places in the area you want and see any restaurants that’s catch your eye ! Try it out and see if it “fits” you both to have you big day there!

Maybe do a cocktail style or simply find a local hangout place. We considered the VFW and having just a simple get together. At 20 people depending on your style think of it as a gathering for the holidays.

We had 15 guests and had a ceremony, cocktail then dinner reception in a wine cave (at a resort). We had solo musicians for our ceremony & dinner but no DJ/dancing. Felt like one big loud dinner party!

Some restaurants have a little room you can book. Maybe look into that? You can still decorate you want but don’t have to pay for catering as the restaurant would provide it!

I would look for a restaurant with a private room. I used to be an event coordinator for a wine bar restaurant, and we had quite a few intimate wedding dinners. Get a set menu, you can design the printed menus to make it more personal, bring in some flowers, you may even be able to ask for specific colored linens if they're able

I’d suggest a private room at a restaurant. You can talk to the sales manager for set-up.

Some restaurants have a little private room, if you live close to a city with water there are sometimes dinner cruises, or catering for some reception hall.

I would do a small reception because I don’t want to lose the wedding feel. Olive Garden has some nice packages that you can assemble, and it’s affordable! Definitely worth looking into.

We are having probably 20 to 30 guests and still doing a really nice reception. This is still our wedding and we didn't want to toss away the fun and memories by just going to an everyday restaurant. You can save a ton of money though.
