I'm just here to vent. My wedding is less than a month away and I just picked up my dress from my last appt last week. I just thought that I would love it more. I bought my dress on a budget because we don't have a lot of extra money to spend, and I'm really not a "dress up" person. I had a "moment"...

I bought my dress on a budget because we don't have a lot of extra money to spend, and I'm really not a "dress up" person. I had a "moment" with a dress that was out of my price range but got over it.
My current dress is just not me at all, fits me awkwardly, and doesn't have a train. I dont know what I was thinking when I bought it. I am so disappointed that I have to wear this horrible dress and spend money on it. It makes me feel like a sausage. Sorry, I'm just wallowing 😭cfb_1401799.jpg

Thank you again to everyone!! After seeing some of these comments I've kind of snapped back to reality. Yes, its not an over the top dress or anything like that and its not exactly "me," but because I saved some money on the dress, I was able to hire an amazing photographer, buy a nicer wedding band, etc. And I'm going to be married to my beautiful fiancée who I'm sure will love my dress because she loves me.

I think I'm just overly sensitive because my mom had emergency surgery during my alterations and was away when I bought it, so I just feel kind of emotionally disconnected from it because of that I think. I also haven't slimmed down as much as I wanted and it was super hard to get on, but I still have a few weeks to fix that, lol. I bought new accessories, a petticoat, and am feeling much better because of you guys. So truly, thank you everyone ❤ I posted pics of my accessories in another post if anyone wants to see them.

I have really thin hair and found that hair pieces with combs stay the best. Ive seen people put a belt over the one attached if the attached belt isnt bulky. As far as a bit more volume at the bottom there are some 3 tier slips that give just a bit of volume to the bottom
Amazon has them for cheap, ( that's where I got mine)
I think you look beautiful, but you are the one that has to feel beautiful in your dress. I wish you happiness.

This dress is beautiful! Add a belt or a long cathedral veil that will add sparkle to this dress! You look great. Ask them to tailor it more to fit better, love.

I'm not sure if it's been suggested yet, but you can always buy an overskirt to go on it. This would add possibly a train and a totally different look for you. Haven't checked on pricing though for these kind of things though. I personally think you look really nice in this dress and could potentially find way to jazz it up. But if none of the options seem to make you like it more, you could always find something offline. Good luck! i hate my wedding dress :( 1

I echo everyone else saying hi look great! But also that I felt the EXACT same way just a few weeks ago. I felt like a sausage stuffed in a burrito and the dress was fitting really awkwardly at all the areas of my body I hate (bra bulge, hips, etc.). I also bought mine off the clearance rack so there definitely were some corners cut in quality so it just fits awkwardly even after my tailor did her best—but at the time i bought it I cared more about my budget than the “feeling”. Honestly I didn’t try my dress on after my last fitting and just feeling defeated.

Then I committed to exercising and watching my carbs (bloating, excess water, etc) consistently for 2 weeks before trying it on again and my view totally changed. Don’t think my body necessarily changed all that much but I just felt healthier in it and making sure I wasn’t having a ton of excess water helped with the sausage feelings lol. Now I’m 3 weeks out and super excited. I’m not rid of the sadness of not getting that “feeling” of this dress being “the one” but I also am focusing more on no one else but me will see these issues. Everyone will think I look lovely. I hope this helps!!

I think you look wonderful! That dress is really pretty and fits you great! Maybe you can add some accessories you like to make you feel better about it? Like a flower crown or bracelet?

If you really want a train they make veils that go soo long and will give you that extra drama. You and also add an overskirt a tulle material that can go over the dress and give it an A-line shape this is a cheap and amazing option! best of luck!

I think it is very pretty. I didn’t where a vail but sometime they are longer than the train. Perhaps you can give one ago... never know. That way you can just take it off and start dancing . You won’t need to add the bustle I would think

I want to say you are not alone... I hated my dress too when I went to my first fitting! I felt the same way and wanted to cry because I thought I was stuck. I even almost considered buying a new dress! I didn't understand why I was feeling that and never knew anyone else who went through what I did. I just want to say to trust in what you saw when you purchased your dress because the day of everything will change. I think right now you do not see the complete picture. Sometimes it just a little touch here and there to make it alright, such as your hair and makeup, jewelry, veil/head piece. Also I wouldn't worry about the train, I actually wanted to cut mine off but apparently that would have been an extra expense not included in the tailoring. In my opinion, I think your dress is absolutely stunning and you look amazing. I loved the buttons, I had buttons like that on my dress that I paid extra to add. But I am here to tell you, you are not alone and to trust in what you saw when you purchased it.

You can buy cheap overlays/skirts to add texture if that would help! Or sell it to another bride and pick up a new one quickly!
