How's the planning going?

Molly, on May 30, 2019 at 11:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 54

I am getting married on March 28, 2020. I have gotten my wedding dress, picked out my venue, got my photographer and dj, and found accommodations for my guests. I also got my bridesmaid gifts and am trying to figure out what i should do for centerpieces and decorations (I'm looking for the rustic chic look). I start a new job in mid august so i want to get most of the planning and crafts done before i start so i'm not stressing out about too many things! What have you all done?

So far I've got the ceremony and reception venue and dress. I'm super relaxed when it comes to planning - maybe a little too much!

You are on top of it, congratulations! When we were 10 months out, we had DJ, florist, photographer, videographer, hair and makeup, hotel block, and caterer. Then at 8 months out, we had desserts & transportation too! We also sent our save the dates out 10 months early.

I've gotten most of the big stuff - venue, ceremony venue, dress & veil, DJ, HMUA, photographer - just need florist and bakery! Also have most of what I need for centerpieces. I also need to get bridesmaids gifts and table numbers, stuff like that.

Where are you looking for centerpieces and decorations? Are you buying them already made or are you making them yourself?

Dang girl, you are on the ball! For decorations, I would highly suggest looking at FB Marketplace. I found a few of our pieces there and saved a few bucks compared to retail. You never know who may have similar tastes to yours.

You are doing a great job! You'll be happy you did all this early, we are less than 2 months out and I'm not stressed which is super nice.

Well, I ended up being super lucky, my venue actually had a lot of what I was going to purchase that we can use for free! This is what we are doing:

I just found out that my venue will provide these:

    VenueHow's the planning going? 2

So, I'm just going to order a couple taller vases for the middle and the loose flowers to go in the vases! I was also thinking a mirror plate to go underneath, and marbles at the bottom with maybe a clear submersible light. I've found some great websites to purchase from!

Here's one that has been great:

And Etsy, Amazon and Ebay all have the rest for good prices as well!

Most of the big stuff is done. Dress ordered, venue booked, photographer and DJ booked. I am still needing to get a florist, and a bakery booked as well as book our hotel for the weekend of. I am doing makeup trial next weekend and BM dress shopping the end of June. Save the dates are put together and will mail those in June some time also. I have half of the stuff for my centerpieces, so I need to get the rest of it together as well as my BM gifts together, also I need my veil and jewelry. I though we had a lot done, but now that I have listed it out here I am thinking I need to get on it lol

When did you start looking at centerpieces and putting them together/figuring out what you want and doing "mockups" if you will? haha

Honestly, we haven't yet. For us it depends on our guest count on how fancy our flowers & tables will be. We wanted to spend more on food & drink than on tables. Our caterer provides china, and we already hired out florist, so we will finalize those orders next month (one month out). I've had a Pinterest board the whole time though and about 6 months out I started taking it more seriously, but I haven't even decided yet haha!

That makes sense! My fiance and I bought corn hole boards and custom designed decals. We're going to stain the boards and put the decals on and use them as our guest book; it will be a fun summer project!

It's nice to hear that another person is ahead of the game too! My save the dates are coasters because my fiance and I love going to breweries and drinking craft beer! The way we're designating the tables is with the logos of the breweries we've been to together Smiley heart

Almost 11 months out. I have the venue, wedding dress, colors, centerpiece holder, save the dates, HMUA, photographers, videographer, and bridal party chosen. I am currently working on booking my florist and DJ. I was lucky to find my centerpiece holder at ross so currently I am winning on saving money lol.

What are your colors and what is your centerpiece holder? My colors are emerald green, navy blue, and whites. My bridesmaids are wearing Emerald green or Dark green bridesmaid dresses and the guys are wearing Navy Blue suits!

My colors are dusty blue and coral pink. I will probably use green and ivory as well because our theme is a rustic/chic nature vibe. Our centerpieces that we found at Ross are the wood plates. Not all the same size but close but I feel that it will give the sense of not being super fancy and proper. I still have not thought on what the guys suits will be let alone my FH.
