How will you honor family in Heaven?

Anna, on September 28, 2020 at 11:43 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 35
Planning a wedding without my Mama, was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I did my best to add her to my day. It brought me great comfort to know she would be watching from Heaven. How will you honor family in Heaven? 1

I included her name on our Invitations, I made my portrait bouquet out of red and purple like we always dreamed of, I made a heart and added it to the altar to represent my undying love for her, I also dedicated her favorite song to her, at the Reception. "Tears in Heaven " by Eric Clapton.

I think we can all agree, that family is always near and dear to our hearts, no matter the distance between us, and weddings are a time of celebrating the love that we share with our future spouses, and the love for those who made us who we are.
Show me/ tell me how you will include those dearly departed family members that can't be there in person (but, will be in spirit) on your day.Congratulations to all and happy planning. ❤

That’s beautiful!! I have a bracelet that has some of my mother’s ashes in it. I’m going to have a clasp so I can attach it to my bouquet. Also getting charms so my brother, sister & I can wear them. Will have a memory table with her & some other family members that have passed on it. Have a chair with a single red rose on it for her.

Oh! How lovely! Thank you for sharing! I'm going to search for one too. I spread some of her ashes at the beach, but would love to wear them too...now, that's something I never thought I'd say. Smiley smile

We found special family pictures, framed them, and had the venue put them on shelves that were in the front lobby/cocktail area.

We had my maternal grandparents, my paternal great-grandfather, DH's paternal grandparents, and his maternal step-grandmother.

I always wondered how I would plan my wedding with out my mother. It was tough and I am so thankful that had family and friend help pull me through. Your dedication is beautiful. I did a memorial chair and my brothers and myself placed white roses in it as we walked down the aisle. How will you honor family in Heaven? 7

I am getting a memorial charm off of Etsy and I also have a charm that I wear on a necklace that had my fathers ashes in it that will be attached to my bouquet. We will also do a small picture memorial table at the reception with candles

We put a wedding picture from each of our parents' weddings, with both of their sets of parents in them next to the guest book. (Between the 6 couples only 5 people are still with us, and none of them ever had a divorce, so it seemed like both a good omen and a good way to honor our deceased grandparents and my dad.) I also wore a locket that had a picture of my dad in it, so he could be with me down the aisle. My brother walked me down the aisle and replied to "who presents this woman" "on behalf of those who are here and those who are unable to be, I do." He also danced with me to the song from which my dad got his nickname for me.

I carried a bouquets charm with my aunt on it. She was like a mother to me. My husband has lost both parents and his brother when he was very young so I had a boutonnière charm made for him. We also reserved seats on the front row and took a minute during our ceremony to recognize those people and then we laid single roses on their chairs while the officiant said a prayer.

I have a necklace I wear daily that has a charm that is a heart that holds some of his ashes and another charm that has his finger print on it! I plan on putting both of those plus a charm with a picture on my flowers! Super excited about the idea!

I’m doing a few things. We are going to have a memorial table that includes all of those close to us who have passed away and would’ve been at our wedding if they were still living. We also picked a song for each of our grandparents to dedicate to them based on their favorite artist/favorite song. And for me personally, my grandfather and I were extremely close, so I am going to incorporate him into my bouquet so he’s walking with me down the aisle. I originally wanted to do little Mickeys in his birthstone color. But I have to see if it’ll match the colors of the bouquet first. If not, I’ll do a picture memorial.

I personally, love tattoos, and consider them art. My Mama loved them too! She was fascinated by them, and would have wanted to know the story behind yours. Smiley smile
