How Were You Proposed To?

Let's see...its nothing extravagant but it was special to me. I was at my folks house and I was on the phone talking to him and he said "Baby I don't think I can wait any longer" and I was like what are you talking? I heard a pause and he said "I want you to be with me and I want you to wake up beside me and I love you more than anything you know...its hard to express my love for you in so little words...what I'm trying to say is marry me" and I said yes...

I know...it was simple but it was so sweet

He and I knew we were planning on getting married, and had actually already started to plan the wedding, but I knew an "official" proposal was coming sometime. I didn't expect it when it happened though, he managed to completely surprise me.

We had planned to take a "winter walk" like we have done before, and I suggested we go to a park that I like. He said "no I want to go where we usually walk." I thought that was weird because he usually defers to me, lol. But I was like ok and we started walking and talking like any other day. When we got to this little rest spot with benches I realized there were lit candles nestled in the snow, and potpourri spread out around the ground and a blanket on one bench. I took one look and thought, OH! IT'S HAPPENING NOW! He got down on one knee and gave me his great-grandma's ring

everyone knew except me, his sister set up the candles and ran off as soon as she saw us coming, I even saw her leave but it didn't register that it was her. haha!

We went on a camping trip to the Grand Canyon. At sunset on the second day we found a ledge on the south rim overlooking the canyon (seriously- our legs were all but dangling over) We sipped some champagne in plastic cups and watched the sun go down. We're a really cheesy couple so even when he started taking a video and asking cute questions about if I wanted to be with him tomorrow and the next day, I didn't "get it" until he took out the ring.

We've actually been married civilly for almost five years, but we've been waiting for the right moment to do things the traditional way. Part of that has always been him wanting to buy a nice ring (which he definitely did) and propose. It was so romantic and perfect for us.

It was perfect! Andre told me he wanted to go get away and stay in a yurt. Which is not unusual. I thought nothing of it. We left Friday (I thought we were camping, so I brought camping clothes and no make up). We drove to the beach and Andre said he wanted to go straight to the beach. I wanted us to check in, so we could get the heater going in the yurt. But Andre insisted (again I did not think anything of it). Then he goes to the parking lot where you need to pay to park. I was confused. I mentioned that we needed to pay if we parked here, but Andre said we would just be a minute and not to worry. LOL I was thinking, geez no heater and now parking here, why is he being so dumb. Once on the sand, Andre stopped and swung me around. He got down on one knee, expressed his love for me and asked me to make him the happiest man alive. Through tears (I bawled) I shouted yes!! He lied, no yurt. He rented a beautiful room at a B&B, where we cuddled and drank wine all weekend by the fireplace.

FH and my 2 sons got on bended knee. Don't ask what was said...because I was too emotional....he included my kids

By a 5 page letter that he sent to me when he was away. He ended it by saying lets just pick a date.

I wasn't big on getting married and he never wanted to so it came as a massive surprise. But it suited him (and me) completely

Ohh Michele my son was included with my proposal as well... We went to fh parents house just because (so I thought) but fh and my 6 year old got down on one knee to propose "Cam- mommy will you marry daddy pleeese" I thought it was so cute (especially since they were the only two that knew it was happening yeah my 6 year old kept a secret from me, his Nyny and Papa unbelievable cause he can't hold water) but it was even better when his mother started crying and jumping around you would have thought she was getting proposed to lol but after all that they had to do it again so she could record it but of course she didn't know how to work her own camera so she didn't get it on camera the second time either lol but I got three proposals since he had to do it all over again for my family too

He proposed in a hot air balloon! He said we were going up to cross it off our bucket lists and also to make up for the past 3 anniversary's that he screwed up! So at 3500 ft above the ground FH asked if I would marry him... of course I thought he was joking the week leading up to it everyone kept saying something but I didn't think it was going to happen. And it's so loud that you can only hear each other by talking in your ear, he asked if I would marry him I told him to STFU and returned to my view 2nd time he asked Will you Marry me and showed me a black box and I said you're still not funny and the 3rd time as low as he could go in the basket (he was so scared it was going to fall over) he said NO will you marry me and opened the box after a couple are you serious shut up no way I said YES!!

He took me hiking along the blue ridge parkway (we lived near it at the time), along one of my favorite trails, and one I had taken him on when he first moved to the area, it was kind of our first date. Anyway, we hiked all the way up to the top, to these wonderful rock outcroppings that I love (I like to dangle my feet over the edge of things, I know its weird, I did it at the grand canyon too). We hung out for a while, I think he was getting his nerve up, lol, and finally he asked me to stand up and I turned around and he was down on one knee with my grandmother's ring and asked me to be his wife! My profile picture is one we took with our cell phones at the bottom of the trail with the sign in the back.

He proposed on our 4 year anniversary (July 4th) at the same place we had our first date (the fireworks at the lighthouse on the lake). He waited until the grand finale when the fireworks are the brightest. I was completely surprised. I didn't even say yes right away! He had to explain that he had already asked my parents, my two sons, talked to his parents. He had been secretly talking to my sister (who I am very close with) and her husband. When he said "Everybody knows I'm asking you to be my wife". I started balling like a baby. It was so romantic

He proposed to me on December 16th 2011 the day before I graduated with my Masters Degree. That evening I came home from work and went into the bedroom to take off my clothes and jewelry and as I was taking off my jewelry I saw a white box sitting on top of my shelf. I said what's this and he said open it and see. As I was opening it up he got down on one knee and said I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me, and I started crying and I said yes. He then put the ring on my finger and I grabbed to hug him. Then I ran to the phone and called my best friend and then my sister. The best day of my life!!

We went to the Nantahala National Forest for a weekend getaway for a belated Valentine's Day celebration. We hiked to the top of a mountain overlooking a lake, and he got down on one knee in the snow and asked me to marry him. I immediately started crying and barely squeaked out "yes!" It was the most amazing moment of my life!

We were going on a weekend trip to Vegas and meeting my sister and her boyfriend there. We were walking through the airport and he bent down to rub his knee so I asked if he was okay (thinking he was hurt) and he got down on his knee right there in the airport with people all around (I didn't even notice them around us!) and pulled out the ring :-)

We went away to celebrate our 3 year anniversary...FH proposed while we were walking along the beach. I had a feeling it was coming that weekend. Once we started walking the beach, I could feel how nervous he was! We made it all the way down the beach and back...all the way back to the parking lot!! I was beginning to think that he wasn't going to do it after all! At the last second he pulled me back onto the beach, had some beautiful things to say about our relationship and then he got down on one knee. He said he was so nervous not because he thought I wouldn't accept, but because it meant so much to him and he wanted to make sure he got it right. <3
