We just picked a date 9/5/21 and we’ve been planning low key since before we got officially engaged. Since being engaged, my mom was up my butt (my parents are helping us with cost) to sit down w my FH and make a guest list just to get an idea of how many ppl we r thinking and pick a date and get an idea about venues so we can start looking and we actually picked our venue and date. Now she’s eased up and altho we are ahead of the game I like being prepared plus I think it’s fun to look at different ideas and begin to set a budget early on to ease your planning as it gets closer. Long story short, I don’t think it’s too early and you can do a little at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed the year leading up to the wedding

We got engaged 14 months out and I did a majority of planning the first two months. The earlier you book certain vendors, the better prices you get. Ex: my HMUA contacted us as 2019 prices even though we’re getting married in 2020 and they’re 2020 prices are about $60 more per person. Same with venue and florist.
