Don't discuss wedding details with your family unless you are prepared for A LOT of opinions. I would line up a venue as those book up quickly but please don't ask anyone to be your attendants as people and relationships change.

OK. SAME. Mine is Sept 2021 and everyone keeps telling me to wait till this summer to start planning but I’m way too much of an over thinker and planner so that just freaks me out. So I started already, I just bought a blank note book and have started writing down all my ideas, organizing guest list, venue ideas, budget etc. most the venues in my area won’t let you book more than a year in advance so I probs won’t book anything till September but I’ve definitely started looking and arranging tours. Honestly starting a wedding planning notebook has been such a stress relief cuz I’ve just put my ideas, websites, prices everything in there and it has helped me feel a million times better. So start with that Smiley smile

Right away! Venues book up quickly these days! Also the more time you have to plan then the better you can make your wedding meet your expectations.

Honestly I started planning before my fiancé even proposed to me. Since we where talking about getting married a few months before he proposed I started planning and thinking of wedding themes.

The sooner, the better. Allow yourself a lot of time to save and pay for things.

I got engaged in march of 2019 and our wedding is in june of 2020. I started planning right away and got the big items checked off my list. Venue, bridal party, etc. That allowed me some time to enjoy being engaged in between and now I'm not feeling rushed!

Hi Tinka you can start planning as soon as you set your date. Trust the earlier the better.

She’s correct venues especially if there a popular site books our early. I got engaged 10/26/2018 on my birthday and our wedding is 10/24/2020 we booked the venue about a year out and did everything else about the same time frame. Which allowed us to start purchasing invites and eg to save money. Advise start buying stamps from now . Stamp pricing going up and the more items in the invite envelope the more costly. If your a DIY girl check out Michaels and Joann fabrics those 40-60% off helps a lot.

Our wedding is November 20, 2021 (originally were looking at June 11, 2021) but we changed it to off season to save money, give ourselves a bit more time to plan and we noticed June was already filling up as of December 2019 and early January!! We have even been seeing November dates start to fill.

Mine is July 2021. I started planning in December of 2019 because i knew a lot of specific things i want and i have expensive tastes. I want everything payed off before hand. I don't want to go into marriage with debt. I don't want any last minute financial surprises.
