I’m hoping to wear my mother’s wedding dress to save money and for sentimental value. If it doesn’t fit or it isn’t what I imagined, I don’t want to spend over $300!
I wanted to spend no more than 500, but.... I ended up spending 800. Lol!! I fell in love with it. Then my mom offered to pay the 300 over. So I only spent my 500 so far and I have to pay for my own alterations too.
My dress cost $200. I bought it second hand locally and it's everything I could have dreamed of. It's a Maggie Sottero with intricate beading, corset back, a beautiful flowing skirt, and a long train. I even got the matching veil from her for $20. I got super lucky in the find, but it took me over 6 months to find it. You can absolutely find your perfect dress without spending a fortune, you just have to find your balance between cost and the vision you have for your dress.
I originally said the same until I started my search and found it difficult the get the look I wanted within my budget 💰. Soo I did increase my budget to $500 and was able to find a dress I loved . I will say I found some website like Azazi that has beautiful modern dresses online but I didn’t know about it at that time if I did I would have ordered a few try in options for consideration . My inexperienced fault .
My dress was originally $700+ and I scored it for less than $250 and will need minimal alterations. Don't compare yourself to other brides or try to keep up with the Joneses...it's your day and your budget. You can definitely find something you feel beautiful in no matter what your price range is.
There is an app out right now called Azazie. Almost every dress on it is under 500$, PLUS they send you samples for 10$-15$ a dress sample with up to three at a time!! This is my plan! I don’t see the need to spend oodles if money for something but unfortunately I don’t have the heart to only rent one. I want it to be MY dress but I also don’t want to spend 7,000 on it either.
The big puffy princess dress that I have fallen in love with is 1100 wich is far less than I thought I would be spending, it's not wrong to not want to spend a fortune on some you're probably only going to wear once, it's your dress and your day as long as you're happy who cares how much or little you spent?
Less than $500 for the one I wore -- which was my DREAM DRESS, but I wouldn't pay the full price for it so I randomly found it on sale online (sample sale FTW!)
Why spend more if you A) Don't want to and B) Like the dress
There are other places to spend that money if it's burning a hole in your pocket
I spent $95 on my wedding dress and it's still beautiful! I spent a little over $200 on my prom dress and it kinda pisses me off thinking of how much money I wasted on a dress that I wore once... in high school.
I was originally planning on ordering a dress from jjhouse for $200, but my mom ended up buying me a dress for $1000. I would never have spent that much of my own money. Alibaba also has some nice choices for cheap, just takes some time to find one.

Im hoping it will be perfect as it is! My mom is a few inches taller than me, so it might need to be hemmed! I moved out of state, and she is visiting me next month. I will get to try it on then- crossed fingers!
My mom wanted to buy my dress and I wasn't comfortable with getting anything over $600. But even if she didn't buy it my budget would've been the same. My dress was $480.xx
