How much Wedding Cake do you order?

We ordered enough cake for everyone to have a slice.

We are have 58-60 and order the cake for 50- there are 4 diabetic guest and a couple of paleo people.

We ordered more than enough desserts/cake for everyone. I would get enough to feed all of your guests.

I followed the rule of ordering a piece for every person. I had so much cake left over that I wished that I had gone with my gut and ordered 1 sheet cake instead of two. You know your guest better than we do. Do most of them eat cake? If so then yes by all means order cake for all. If most don't then I would say don't. I had made cream cheese mints. 175 of almond flavored, 175 of vanilla and 200 of mint. I didn't have any left over. Are you doing other dessert or just cake?

Always plan for your entire guest list. It would be far better to plan for 350 and only have 200 eat cake than to plan for 200 but have 350 that want cake

We have a max of 80 people, so we ordered a cake for 80 people. Plus, I think FH and I will be getting a small cake to huck home afterwords. Definitely get at least 1 slice per guest.

Have you found someone to do your cake? The person I found suggested how much cake was enough based on how she makes her cakes. Your baker will tell you.

I definitely think it is better to have too much cake than not enough. Order enough for a slice for each guest, as a minimum. Your baker should know how much is needed for an event of your size.

We ordered enough cake for everyone to have a slice, plus a little extra. We had two different flavors alternating between tiers and knew there would be a few guests coming who would be compelled to try both flavors.

Order enough for at least one per person!

We ordered enough for 175 and had 149 people. We had three pieces of cake left over, and only because we asked them to set aside a piece of each for us.

I think if you have good cake - it goes a lot more than if you have dry, OK cake.

I actually ordered less than the amount of people I invited. I knew not all of them would want cake, or not all of them would want to eat that specific type of cake. I also had a dessert table with pastries, flan, and another type of cake slices.

If you are worried about budget you can get a small cutting cake and sheet cake to serve your guests as dessert.

People are unpredictable. At some weddings all the cake is eaten, at some half is left. You need to be prepared for the former
