We're having 350 guests, do I order a cake for 350 guests or half of that?

I have never been to a wedding that the cake got eaten by everyone. It always seemed like a huge ways of money. But I guess know your guests and judge from there. I think a diverse dessert table goes over allot better though.

Order enough for everyone. I have about 200 people on my guest list and I don't like the look of huge cakes so I'm doing a small-ish cake (2-3 tier) + sheet cake (made in same flavor and by the same baker) in the back. It's a money saver too.

Your baker should be able to advise you. But generally, a slice for everyone.

Depends on if you have a sweets table or not. If you have a sweets table, then it's advised that you order a small cake for show and then people can have their choice of sweets.

Part of that equation involves WHEN you are going to serve the cake. If you are waiting until the middle of dancing then some people may have already left.

With my girls we ordered for everyone. They joined their cocktail hours at the end, did their first dance and then cut the cake so it could be plated for dessert. Unfortunately, the leftovers I was so highly anticipating didn't really happen.

Get a least enough for all guests to have 1 slice, you can always go back to the bakery and get a smaller cake or larger once RSVPs start coming in. I had over 100 guests when I went to the bakery and now only 25 will actually be attending

FH and I will have 350 guests. I know my side which is less than a fourth of the guests will eat cake and he says his side may or may not because they are not foodies like my family so he decided we should order enough for everyone whether they eat some or not. It certainly would seem classless to run out of cake and embarrass everyone who didn't get a slice.
