How much time do I need to allot for each bridal gown shop appointment?

BalletShoesRachel, on August 8, 2013 at 11:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

We want to try and do two shops in one day, but we can only start at noon or 1 pm, and there's about an hour or an hour and a half's worth of distance between the two. I don't know when the second shop closes (of course I will call). How much time can I expect to spend at each shop?

Keep in mind that I know what I want, am extremely picky, and a little unwilling to compromise. Smiley winking

Most places will only give you an appointment for an hour or an hour & a half. I think DB works with you as long as you need, but I'm not sure. You're best answer will come from calling the actual salon & asking how long their appointments are & what they have available for that day. You can say you have other wedding related appointments if you want but depending on the specific person you talk to, he/she may not be as friendly during the appointment if they know you're rushing to another dress place.

I started at 10 went to 4 salons and was done by 5 pm, and I tried on over 60 dresses. It depends how fast you are and how easy it is for you to like to not like something. I'm a fast shopper, most dresses I knew within seconds if it was worth coming back for a second look or not. And I went with just my mom. My BM's would just over opinionize and confuse me

I had 2 appt in one day and they were an hour driving time apart. I made one for the morning and the other an hour before they closed. That way we could drive and have lunch in between.

Call the stores you plan to go see and find out if an appointment is necessary with a Consultant. Most will require an appointment. Time limit..depends on the salon. Charge for an appointment..we don't charge, I haven't heard of anyone charging yet, BUT ask. If they do they apply it to the cost of your dress. If not, most likely it goes for the Consultants time, which is more than fair because you are getting expert advice. I would not bring a large group. Bring your Mother, or someone's respected opinion will be honest should you decide to buy at any of your appointment. You will know when you find your dress instinctively. Good Luck!

If you go on a Saturday or Sunday, you may not get the attention/time you want. Your best bet is to go during the week (my friend said their slowest on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in the morning.

Alfred Angleo gave us 2 hours Davids we were there as long as needed our appointment was at 2 with them and we left at 5 (but that was bridal AND bridesmaid dresses we checked out. We went on a Saturday and Davids gave us a ton of attention. But yes weekends are usually more busy.

Yeah, like everyone else said..DB gave me an hour and half appointment. The first hour and a half all attention was on me. After the time allotted she welcomed me to stay and continue to try on dresses. Every once and awhile she would come back to check on me and even bring me a dress or two. When I found my dress, she then stayed and jacked me up.
