    About $10,000 in Scottsdale, AZ.

That includes ceremony & chairs for ceremony, and an arch.

    Our 75 guests will receive:

Cocktail hour w/ 3 types of appetizers

    5 hour open premium bar

    salad

    3 entries to choose from

    2 sides

    coffee/tea/cake cutting

Linens, tables, waitstaff, bartender and chairs are included. We're paying an addition $1000 for chair covers and for the decorations for our reception area.

It probably depends on the place, and what area you are in. There could be alot of factors.

so far the most expensive place we found was like $400 for rental of the cermony, and reception area, and then they had several different catering packages and the most expensive of that was about 60$ a person. plus taxes, and gratutuity. But then that does not include, DJ/Band, Florist, Makeup/hair, phtographer, cake....etc.

We have not settled on anything yet. The place I'm mentioning now was too much so we have looked elsewhere, and found cheaper.

Wow! I can't believe you all have such inexpensive venues! I wish you were my daughters! I'm the dad and I just jump all into this stuff...I have researched and researched, asked wuestions on this forum and others. According to THE KNOT, the average cost of a wedding (in total) for 2010 is.....$26,500. And 50% of that is for the venue alone.

Having said that, my daughter has not yet picked the place (here in Southern New Jersey) and the least expensive catering hall (not a fire hall, ambulance hall or church basement, but a wedding catering hall is $65 pp for a Saturday night in October. The nice places (nice, not ultra elegant) are running $110 pp + 7% tax + 20% gratuity fee ($139 pp all-in cost. The elegant places like golf country clubs with huge crystal chandeleers are hitting $145 pp + the 27% on top of that.

I'm surprised at all these cheap venues too! I picked out the cheapest place I went to (and it happens that I loved that one the most so I felt ok about picking the "cheap" one).... Anywho, ours was $15,000 BUT it includes EVERYTHING you need (except the dresses!).

-food, cocktail hour, passed hors d'oeuvres, open bar all night, cake, cake server, champagne toast (and flutes for the B&G), flowers, decorations, centerpieces, linens, DJ, photographer, officiate, bartenders/wait staff, TAXES/Tip are also included!!!! Smiley smile

I pretty much have almost everything planned... I just need to pick out the cake company I want to use and the DJ I want. Everything else is good to go!

Having mine at the radisson. The price for 250 people is $7000 which includes the cocktail hour, cake cutting, food (3 course meal), linens, mirror under the cake, and a few other things that slipped my mind. We are also possibly having an open bar which I think is somewhat part of it...? Don't quote on that. Too lazy to get off my butt and get my folder of info haha.

We are doing our ceremony & reception at the same place, ceremony & reception fee is $5,300...and we will have the entire place to ourselves which is why I'm guessing it's so high!! The venue total came to $23,000 for 150 people. That includes literally everything. Open bar, dinner & horderves, Cake, officiant, DJ, flowers, center pieces, etc....and the place is already decorated beautifully so I won't need to add on. Unless I end up upgrading center pieces or something! crazy how much money these things cost!!

I live in so cal and things are a little more expensive here. For my venue which only included appetizers (butler passed), dinner, a basic cake (which I paid additional funds to upgrade), valet parking and 4 hours of open bar $20,000 for 190 people. It did not include the ceremony which was held in a church, the dj nor floors

Ours is $500, comes with the tables and chairs, set up and take down, some linens (We already have most of our own linens and they'll provide the rest.) A nice back up room in case of rain and because it's a museum all the guests will get a free tour of the museum. We can bring in any caterer or make our own food.

    Not the greatest photo, sorry.

OMG, reading all these expensive prices is scaring me. I will be going to look at venues this wknd, so I hope they are not that expensive. Maybe I should just have the reception at my house. =(

Our venue was $2700 and then the caterer would supplied all the linens, china, flatware, full open bar for 5 hours, appetizers, salad, filet or crabcakes & scallops, cake, ice cream sundae bar, dessert bar & cigar lounge furniture was $13K. We are in DC, so as crazy as it seems...that was actually a decent deal for being inside the beltway.
