How much is your centerpiece costing you?

Anonymous, on April 29, 2010 at 11:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 31

My wedding isnt until next summer but i'm already thinking about my centerpieces,

I wanted to do something like this...

http://www.everafterplanner.com/Images/RF_6.jpg

the tall trumpet vase with a round bouquet of flowers on top. only concern i have is how much the flowers are going to cost... so my question to the brides on here is how much did you or plan on spending on centerpieces?

I spent probably $10 a piece on my center pieces but I am doing something simple.

I think I'll probably end up spending around $75 a centerpiece...but I have no idea yet (my wedding is far away too). Make an appointment with a local florist or two; they should be able to give you a rough estimate. Once you have an idea of the cost, you'll be able to budget accordingly.

Oh goodness, that's going to be super expensive but gorgeous! This is a mock up version of what ours will look like..they will have a floating candle at the top and a light coming up through the bottom but other than that it's pretty similar to the picture and they ran us about $20 a piece.

Mine are probably about... $12 each. but i got almost everything at the dollar store, on sale, or with a coupon! lol. heres what mine look like. some of the rose petals will be blue, and the tablecloth will be ivory. also, the vase is a little taller than it looks and im considering putting a blue iris, floating in the middle of each glass. but i dont know if that would be too much... well see!

@Bride to be mine are similar to yours, except just with a cylinder vase instead. Mine will run me about $100 as well. I cut costs a little though because I'm not doing a centerpiece on every table only on half, I bought bulk sizes of 6" 7" and 9" cylinder vases and I'm filling them with floating candles so those will go on the other half.

I am doing half pillar candles and half flowers. My FH's aunt/uncle are florists, so they're only running us about $25 a piece for a pretty large floral arrangement, as we're only paying cost. Yippy! Smiley smile

@Sandy one huge cost saver is use alot of big flowers in your centerpieces if you can i.e. Dhalias, they take up alot of room and leave less space for the spendy ones

We won't know til Saturday when we meet with our second florist, hopefully more budget friendly than the 1st. We have 5-6 tables so I hope we are not going past $20 per table.

Mine centerpiece looks nothing like what you want (Christmas ornaments and candles designed by my FMIL) but they are about $20 each including the table runners.

I got beautiful dark red vases from Dollar Tree (you can order online now) and am going to get silk flowers and make them myself. I have 30 and it will probably cost $100 for all of them.
