How much is a marriage license in your state?

$27.50! I wish! lol In Missouri they can range from $45-$50 depending on the city you live in. Where we are getting married (Kansas City, MO) its $50 Now I used to reside in Kansas, Fees for getting a marriage license in Kansas vary from county to county. Some counties charge $59 while others charge $85.50. Im glad Im not getting married in Kansas, it saves us a little money lol

Whether you have to get it in the county of the wedding varies from state to state, but it does have to be in the state you are marrying in. Here it doesn't have to be from the county. But your officiant has to be certified to marry you in that county. My FH remembers a wedding he did where the venue was just over the county line (our area is actually several small towns next to the city and they all just run together). When FH took the officant aside (a county judge and friend of the bride's family) and pointed out they were actually across the street from his county (when he said "by the power vested in me by the state of Nebraska and the county of ....) they went across the street and did the whole pronouncement in a grocery store parking lot.

Flat $45.00 anywhere in New Hampshire but we have to add an additional $25.00 for a day of license for FFIL to marry us since hes from out of state

Vicky, if you're getting married in Fla., you need a Fla. marriage license. But, you can get it in any Fla. county and use it anywhere in the state. It has to go back to the same county courthouse that issued it.

Wow finally something cheap in Jersey! Ours is $25 and $20 for each additional copy.

In Washington state it varies slightly by our counties, the county I live in the fee is $64.00.

The county I am getting married in and will obtain a marriage license in will be $62.00

....After reading some of these bride's numbers mine doesn't sound too bad!

In the US Virgin Islands a wedding license will set you back $200.

In oregon $60 but I have no idea is it different in each county. It probably is!

In PA you're also permitted to get it in an PA jurisdiction.

We got ours in Philadelphia for the convenience of running down during working hours. It was $80. I'm sure we'll have to pay for a certified copy after the wedding too. I believe Montgomery county is $65 and Chester county is $90 (those were the 2 closest to us)

Texas is like $12 or something like that if you do the free marriage day class

Depends on County/City here in CA. In LA County, it's $85 for confidential, $90 for public.
