My wedding is in november was supposed to be in April but because we're doing a destination wedding we had to push back because of covid. I never actually realized how expensive a destination wedding can be when you include travel, gifts for wedding party, bachelor party, videographer and since we'll be there for a week we're planning on having a themed night so that's an extra cost on top of the wedding we're looking at about 40-60k. My fiancé and i are planning on covering 30-40 and if it happens to go over then both sides of parents will split it equally to help us out which i'm really thankful for !! I think at this point for us to be all together with almost 70 people flying to mexico after covid it's worth it lol!
I think we are thinking around $5k. Probably half of which is hiring musicians I play with. DIY probably at a friends’ place I’ve done events at

We started with a budget of 5k then when we started to realize how expensive everything in the wedding industry is we then budget for 10k. But now with the pandemic forcing us to cut down on guests list and change from a venue to a backyard and our parents and his grandparents help we are going to be at 5k.
You have to decide what you can afford and how much things will end up costing you in your area.
Originally we wanted to stay under $20k but once I really got into planning we realized that was not possible for the kind of wedding we wanted. So now our tentative budget is $30k. My biggest expenses so far are the venue (9k), caterer (5k), flowers (3k), dress+alterations (3k), photographer+videographer (4K), and DJ (2k). Other expenses like weddings party gifts, favors, extra decorations/rentals, alcohol (or a bartender if you’re having one) , hair/makeup artists, wedding coordinator, etc. can really add up as well. To get started I would get some quotes from different vendors in your area because your location impacts costs too. Happy planning!!💕
We planned on $20,000 pre-covid. We had to downsize everything, which saved us a lot of money. We went bigger than we originally planned on for the decorations, flowers, and photography knowing that we could only have small amount of people. We ended around $12,000.
We budgeted $11k not including the honeymoon or my dress. My parents are helping us with $5k and we’re putting the other $6k. So in total, including the honeymoon and my dress is coming out to be around $18k.

My budget is smaller than all of tgese replies (so far). My FH and I are frugal and we wanted to put our money towards a house downpayment. Not to mention, paying off my student loan debt this year!
We started out wanting to spend no more then $5k but then we decided to keep our wedding close to home and..well..it took on a life of its own. We are over $10k right now not including rings or honeymoon. This is a second wedding so we paid for our wedding party attire and alterations because they are our children. It is interesting to see the budgets but would love to know locations because that really dictates prices. It's pretty hard to keep costs down. The little things add up so fast. Lol
So my budget is 5K. I know... it sounds cheap lol.
So far we are only at 2800$ and the only expense we would have now is his tux. Thankfully, I worked with a florist for years and can arrange my own flowers. We decided to spend the bulk of our wedding money on the food. Because of COVID we can only have 50 people attend our wedding. For that reason, We will have music but no DJ. I am making my own photo booth in replacement of the dance floor. I am also having my sister do my hair and makeup to cut costs. I am mostly decorating with flowers and candles so I lucked out with being able to arrange my own flowers. My friend is also taking our wedding pictures and started practicing a year ago! Our ceremony venue is at a beautiful park and the event is at a catering facility. That will cost 1800$ all together. This event center has all the tables, chairs, and linens we will need. As you can see, I am a frugal bride but it will still be just as beautiful and special as any bride wedding who spends 20k. We are a middle class couple that would rather spend the money on a home. Would we like to shell out 20k for our wedding, absolutely! It just isn't something we can do. Every bride has a different vision for their Big day! Never feel like your wedding will not be good enough if it is at a lower cost than most! If you can afford to have a big luxurious wedding then that's great, however, if not.. then there are ways to cut costs.
