We gave about 7 weeks, but I think as low as 5-6 weeks would be okay. Our hotel block is released a month and a half beforehand, so we wanted to give people enough time to reserve rooms.

YAY twin date!!!! No I haven't sent out our invites yet. My plan is to send them out next week and they have till the 16th of August to respond so thats about 4 weeks! The hotel block is good until a month out to it gives them plenty of time. It's getting so close!!!!

Everyone seems to think that giving more time to rsvp will solve the problem, but when I get an invitation in the mail too early, I don't rsvp because it's so far off that I don't know for sure if I can go. So I sit it aside, and sometimes I forget about it.

Yup, steamyz, that's what happened w/my wedding. I was so excited to get the invitations that I sent them out about 3 months before the wedding, giving people almost 2 months to rsvp. So that was more time for people to be wishy washy, first say they were coming and then say they weren't, and some people flat out never rsvp'd to us! Most of our guests were coming from out of state or out of the country, so that's why I wanted to let them know early. It's probably better to only give people 4-6 weeks to rsvp. Shorter if most guests are local.

We mailed June 20 (ish, I kind of forget) and asked for a response by July 8th, so I guess that's about 3 weeks? Wedding is August 8th.

Honestly, that seems less than most, but really, how long does it take to check a box and drop it in the mail. I would think if you give too much time, then it can get lost or forgotten.

We gave them about 8 weeks and it was going well at first and then 4th of july hit and I have only gotten 2 in since then and only have 45% received invites. So we decided to start texting out reminders bc I don't see how hard it is to write your name and put 0,1, or 2 guests are coming. One of FH friends he has to find his invite whaaa?? Come on that is why we sent you a STD in Jan and then gave you 2 months to reply to the invite. I think a lot of people are waiting last minutes to RSVP bc they want to bring someone bc we gave everyone a +1 ugh!

We are getting invitations out in the next few days...and will be giving people roughly 8 weeks to RSVP...We are requesting our RSVP's really early as we need to have numbers for some of the events we are having around the wedding much earlier (though we don't really need to give our final numbers to the wedding/reception venue until 72 hours....but being it is a big wedding if our number is over a certain amount we need to move spaces around some...which means I wanted to know earlier than later). Not looking forward to tracking down RSVPs. Doesn't help that we need to know not just about the wedding/reception but also if they are joining in on Thanksgiving and other events surrounding the wedding.

Intended to give four weeks ended up closer to three but save the dates had already gone out so most already knew and some even booked hotels. Planned for a full week of calls thoughb first week in August.

We sent out our invites 8 weeks before the wedding, and asked them to RSVP 3 weeks before the wedding (5 weeks to get RSVP in). You'll need your headcount for all of your rentals, and your venue and such typically 2 weeks - 4 weeks out from your wedding, so keep that in mind when asking them to RSVP.
