How many stems of flowers do i need?

Sara , on May 21, 2019 at 2:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Or... is there a pretty foolproof way to determine how many flowers I'll need?

I'm making mine out of watercolor painted crepe paper because I love stressing myself out! Smiley laugh

Does anyone have a handy guide or article they can point me to that breaks down about how many flower you need for each thing: bouqs, bouts, corsages, aisle décor, table décor, etc.?

I don't know about ther paper flowers, but I used sola wood flowers and my bouquet came in a kit to diy. It was supposed to have 20 flowers plus the greenery but I only used 18 flowers. It's still a little bigger than I wanted but its beautiful and no way am I redoing it lol #AlsoLikeStressingMyself

    Hi Sara Smiley smile

It sounds like a lot of work, but I’m sure they will be beautiful and worth it in the end.

I imagine that the amount of flowers you will need for each thing does depend on how big you want them to be, how large the flowers are and what else will be in the different items.

I would recommend, for the items like decor, centerpieces, etc, you make one of each, and use those as your guide for how many flowers you need to make for the rest!

You must be super crafty taking on this project! Have you made flowers out of crepe paper before? Do you have inspo pics for the different items you want to create?

Lol I would say yes. It took me 1/2 Saturday aand all day Sunday to make those 3 bouquets. Of course I had to dye the flowers too. May I ask why you decided to do crepe flowers? Do you like the look? Just want something to last forever?

They're very pretty that I've seen online. If you want a little bit easier, but pretty bouquet idk if you have ever seen ribbon flowers? There are a ton of different types you can make (sewn or glued). I've made a bunch of those for past crafts and considered that for my bouquet. I only do the glue flowers. They're pretty easy and if cost is a concern you can get ribbon from dollar tree or buy it in lots or straight from China off Ebay.

I have made them before, actually! A very long time ago, and I only made two and a bud, haha. We're getting married in an old converted barn out in the countryside, so I kind of like the 'rustic' look.

Making one of each item is a really good idea... and I think I need to hit Pinterest for some inspiration pics!

I like the look. The subtle texture of the crepe paper lends itself well to petals. Fold the crepe paper into a stack, cut the petal shape out of a bunch of layers at once, paint the petals with a swipe or two of watercolor, blast dry with a heat gun, then hot glue to stems. I used twigs I found in my yard the last time around. Smiley laugh

I'll definitely look into ribbon flowers, too! What a great idea and they look so pretty!
