All that FH knew was my size and the cut I preferred. My daughter helped him pick it out.

I had a say in both of mine lol. For the first one, we went to just look at rings and I gushed over it. FH wasn't too fond of it because he likes the look of a single solitaire as the center stone and the ring had small round diamonds in the shape of princess cut as the center. He got it anyway. We looked into getting the smaller diamonds removed and replacing it with a single diamond solitaire, but the pricing was crazy! So, it was more cost effective to just purchase a new ring. Fortunately, the salesperson was so nice and allowed us to exchange the previous set even though it was outside of the 60 day window. So, I ended up getting a ring that both of us love. I also like that the new set is more unique. I'll post pics of the first and second. My engagement ring did not come as a set like the first one and I loved the look of two bands, but found an enhancer band that looks fabulous with the ring (and satisfies the look of two bands, even though it's only one). I never thought an enhancer would work with a split shank band but it does! The new rings are both 14k white gold, the previous was 10k, and the diamond tw is bigger in the new rings. So, I told him not to worry about buying me a wedding gift, but knowing him, he will anyway.

My FH did it completely on his own and never even solicited ideas from me. It was a total surprise and I LOVE my ring. He did so well. Smiley smile

    I picked mine out.

The propsal was a surprise. We went on a cruise and he had researched a jewelry stores where we were going. The morning on we got off the ship at the first port we walked in front of a jewelry store and there was a band playing and then he brought me inside and let me pick out my setting and diamond. It was super sweet.

Unfortunately I'm on my phone and can't post a picture Smiley sad

We visited a Spence Diamonds together more than a year ago and browsed together so the FW had an idea of what I liked and what I didn't like. We ended up finding one we both fell in love with but didn't buy it then. FW ended up getting a jeweller to customer make a ring with a very similar design and I love it Smiley smile

My fiance lives in Shanghai so over the summer (while he was working in Guangzhou), he told me to start looking at rings and to send him pictures of ones I liked so he could get a good idea. We ended up not being able to find one that was exactly what we were looking for -- So we had it made when he came back to America. I knew the ring was being made because I had to go in to be sized and also to give them my grandmother's diamond --- but I didn't know WHEN he was going to propose with it or how. That we kept special so he could still have his surprise moment. Smiley smile

We talked about what styles I liked and what I absolutely hated! We also went to some jewelry stores over the summer to try some one and see what I liked in person. He went and designed my ring himself in October and he picked it up in November. He proposed December 12th! It was somewhat a surprise. I knew it was coming but I thought it was going to be two days later when we had a nice night planned with dinner and Wicked. He figured I knew that was the plan so he changed it up on me. It is interesting though because I told him I didn't want anything big and nothing that sticks up high and he ignored that! I absolutely love it. Now just to figure out what kind of wedding ring to put with it.

He picked it out all on his own - I had mentioned that I don't like solitaires, and that I like diamonds in the band, but we never looked at rings together. I absolutely love it.

We knew that we were going to get married. So while we were out Christmas shopping for the family in November, he decided to detour and go look at some engagement rings. I picked out 3 uniquely designed rings that I thought would be wonderful to wear. He made the final decision without me and on Christmas morning he got down on one knee & proposed. I loved his final choice & I wear it proudly.

No pic at work... but it's a princess cut solitare. I picked it out on my own. FH was there, but he let me have free reign of the store.

We went together to pick something out earlier in the year from when he proposed. We spoke early on about how it was important for me to go pick something out since I don't like much of the jewelry options out there. I basically liked 2 out of the 20 we tried on and the 100 we looked at, and even then they were VERY similar. He said if he didn't have my help he would just default to a solitaire because he wouldn't know what to do. And I dislike solitaires because they have such a high profile and I would be hitting it on everything. I love mine because it is lower to my finger and has more detail. It was a matching set and the wedding band is the same as the sides of my engagement ring. Jared's currently has both because they are effing idiotic and incompetent. But hopefully I will have it within 2 months and this nightmare with them will be over (after over 1.5 years of disaster with them).
