How many hrs of photography do we need?

Jamie, on June 11, 2019 at 5:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Eloping in Santorini this September. It will be just the 2 of us at Villa Irini at 6:30pm. The sunset will start at 7:30 that day. Our package includes 2hrs of photography to start when the ceremony does so 6:30 to 8:30 with photos being taken around Villa Irini (in Fira) for the last hour. We are contemplating purchasing another hour of photography in Imerovigli before the ceremony for 220 euros.... We want to end up with plenty of pictures and definitely want some of those gorgeous rooftop photos with the water in the background but 2hrs seems like plenty considering it is just the 2 of us... anyone have any advice? Anyone elope in Fira (Santorini) as well? How many hrs did you book?

How long is your ceremony supposed to last? Will you want to move around a lot for pictures or do them mostly in the one spot? Do you have a must have list for shots and how many are there? Just a couple of things to consider to help you decide Smiley smile

The ceremony is about 20min then we cut the cake and have a first dance. so...maybe 35-40minutes. We definitely want roof top shots with the ocean in the background and some with the town in the background. I'm trying to figure out if that can be done within walking distance of the venue (we only have for one hour). My wedding planner said there are lots of places for pictures near by but it is unclear if we can get the rooftop pics there. Still waiting for answers on those questions... with the time difference, communication can be somewhat slow.

    Hi there Jamie!

If you budget allowed it, and you didn’t want to be keeping an eye on the time, an extra hour could be a great option.

As you really want the rooftop pics, I would definitely wait until the wedding planner comes back to you and if you can have the rooftop pics there, see will it all fit in to the two hours.

Have you asked the wedding planner opinion on hiring an extra hour of photography? As he/she is familiar with the area, they may have some good insights Smiley smile

Hey Jamie! Did you decide to proceed with the 2 hours of photography? Did you find out if you can get the rooftop pics there?
