How many hours is your whole wedding ?

Camila , on May 3, 2017 at 10:07 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 26

We finally decided on a venue but we have to pay by the hour, so I'm not sure how many we need. The setup and tear down has to be included as well. This is what I have so far , does this look ok ?

Setup - 3 hours (1pm-3pm)

Ceremony - (3pm-4pm) - Different Location

Drive time to reception - 30 minutes

Reception - 5 hours (5pm-10pm)

Tear down - 2 hours (10pm-12am)

11 hours total

This is kinda what I am looking at time line

    **** Hair and MUA

11:45-1300 Transport to Church. Get into dress and any touchups by the Stylist and MUA

1:15-1:30. Kolovai and greeting the Bride and Groom by Family

    1:30-2:15. Betrothal and wedding service

I will be greeting my guests officially in church and we have to be out of the church by 3:00

    For the next wedding.

2:15 is until 4pm. Cocktails and apps

4:00-10:00 Reception hall opens bar open until 4:45 pm for Toast and Prayers and dinner is served at 5pm. Bar will open again at 6pm

    Last call is 9:30 pm

We are not responsible in anyway for set up or tear down.

We are doing a 5-12 wedding (paying $500 for an extra hour). I think set up is 2 hours before and I'm not sure how long tear down is. Ceremony and reception are at the same venue

Starting to get ready 4 hours before ceremony, 1 hour ceremony, and then a 6 hour reception. Looking at about an 11 hour day.

We have a day time wedding starting at 11:30 am.

We are getting ready for 6am.

The wedding goes until 5:30 & then we are having an after party at the hotel where everyone will be staying.

So, I guess it'll be a 12 hour day if not longer Smiley smile

I hope I get some sleep

It's really throwing me off that we have to be off the premises by midnight . My family likes to party until at least 1-2 am .

Hi date twin! I'm estimating that my wedding will be about 12 hrs (excluding time to get ready). It's gonna be a long day...

Would you be able to prep any of the decor ahead of time so you don't need a full 3 hours to decorate?

FYI: 1pm-3pm is only 2 hours.

Are you Doing all this or is someone else setting up? When are you getting ready?

I can't help much because my setup and tear Down is provided by the venue. By my ceremony starts at 4, reception ends at 10:30 in the same location.

We don't have a full timeline yet, but here's roughly what we're thinking:

Start getting ready around 10 am with hair, make up etc

    Lunch with BP around noon

Arrive at church around 1:30, get into dresses, finishing touches.

Around 2:30 do a suprise first look with my dad (if we tell him what we're doing, he'll make weird faces in the photos) and take pictures with me, my family, my BP

Around 3:15 have FH do pictures with his family and GM.

Ceremony at 4:30-5:30 (Still not sure how the priests are doing it under 1 hr)

Cocktail hour starts at 5:30, we take the rest of our pictures

Grand Entrance around 6:30, followed by first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances

Dinner served around 7, with toasts and prayer.

Around 7:45 have the bridal party do the traditional brides dance, then open the dance floor.

    Around 8:30 cut the cake.

Party till last call around 11.

    Exit at 11:15.

    Reception ends at 11:30.

12:00 - 3:30 (Hair MUA Dress). 3:30 - 4:00 get to garden venue. 4:00-6:00 Photo session with FI and first look. 6:00 - 6:30 do whatever with Officiant to prep for the wedding. 6:30 to 7:30 ceremony + photos with guests/reception line/whatever. 7:30 to 8:00 transport to reception venue. Dinner and open bar starts at 8:15 and ends at 11. We're hvaing 15 guests so it will be enough time for celebrations

My ceremony and reception begin at 7pm and total 3.5 hours. I'll be doing photos (not first look, though) for an hour before the ceremony starts, and I'll start getting ready in general around 2pm. The makeup team arrives at 3pm.

Of course, since the reception ends at 10:30pm, we'll be heading downtown to a bar for an after-party. I might even sit in on a friend's gig and sing a little bit.
